Sandy Happy Children’s Home Introduction

The Sandy Happy Children’s Home in Kisumu, Kenya cares for children of various ages who have lost their parents, mostly to HIV/A.I.D.S. The home is currently run by a very able-bodied Board of Directors, as well as a devoted staff of volunteers who provide food, clothing, education, skills, training, and medical care to all the children who call this place "home."
The Home originated in 2002 in the slums of Nairobi when Francis Ouma Ooko began feeding a handful of orphaned children. He then constructed a lean-to with a couple of sheets of corrugated sheet metal to provide shelter for them and very quickly, the eight children grew to scores of children.
With the help of donors from around the world, including the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation, the children were relocated in June 2008 to a new facility on a large plot of land in rural Kisumu. Plans are in place to expand the new facility in Kisumu to care for over 200 children by late 2009.
| Thank you, each and every person, who has in any way contributed to the Sandy Happy Children’s Home. Your love and selflessness has truly saved the lives of many children. My blessing is forever upon you. |

Currently the home requires approximately USD$55,250.00 annually to feed, clothe, house, and educate the children. It is through the generosity of people worldwide that the facility has been able to continue to provide this much-needed support.
