A:  As for your concern about “hearing” incorrectly, I would advise that you do not fall into that trap. Do not be concerned with that right now. There are distortions/patterns in all human consciousness which a true Master is very adept at identifying and fixing for and with you. It is important that you are not too hard on yourself. You brought up a very good and important point about this business of questioning/following your own inner guidance. What I will tell you may sound contradictory (though it really is anything but), unless you truly understand the nature of the Guru):

You should always follow your gut/instinct/intuition/listening—always… except (and this is the only exception) when that “listening” conflicts with what your Guru is telling you. In those cases, it is wise to defer to the Guru. The reason is that the Guru’s mind is merged in God, it has been purified, healed, and is trustworthy, whereas the human mind is not. The human ego mind is cunning, devious, and often disguises its voice as the voice of the soul/God—this is its greatest talent. The human mind is run by a combination of fear and desire, whereas the Master’s mind is not. The Guru will help perfect and purify your mind. It is his/her job. The Guru is a set of training wheels for your own divinity. Furthermore, remember that you were the one who went searching for a Master to help exalt and uplift you out of the quagmire of Separation (he did not go looking for you).

Always trust in the God perfection of all that the Master says and does, even when what you are trusting appear to be imperfections in the Master.

The Guru has what you want. What lies beneath your seeming conflict is really your fear of losing control of your life, as well as your issues of trust and faith. It is not about who is right and who is wrong. That is the ego talking again. The Guru is your best friend, your most ardent fan and supporter, and is more devoted to you than anyone you will ever know… even more than your parents, spouse, children—anyone. The Guru lives to serve and uplift you. Remembering this inalienable truth, in addition to remembering that the Master is equipped to handle anything you bring before him, will remove any lingering doubts or resistance to simply following and obeying his loving and divine guidance… all of which is designed solely to liberate you, to uplift you, and to help you attain mastery over all earthly dominion.

This book will summarily dispel those myths and misinterpretations, but more so gift the reader an unparalleled insight into the magic, the power, and the Supreme blessing that this marriage of souls offers the sincere seeker. While the author does include a few of his own “cultural” practices/beliefs (which are actually more endemic to life in India than they are to the nature of Gurus), which therefore act as filters or distortions, they are very self-evident to the astute reader and do not taint or diminish the sheer grandeur and depth of this treatise.

Muktananda tells it like it is, and leaves no question of doubt that his own ascent into the fully God-merged state of consciousness was the direct result—and benediction—of his Guru.  I wholeheartedly place this book on the “Must Read” list for everyone who has been in search of the fastest and most direct path into the heart of God and Self.

On the morning of Easter Sunday, after 85 years of blessing this world—and all of Creation—with His immortal presence, made manifest here on Earth, history came full circle as our beloved Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba drew His last breath and entered mahasamadhi. How blessed is all of humanity that God chose to take this human form and leave such a miracle-filled legacy and example for all to witness and one day emulate.

In the wake of His departure, I have seen world headlines announce His passing. And while they did make mention of just some of His Greatness, some of the fathomless good He has done for this world, and while the press did—in one short day—increase Swami’s exposure from tens of millions to perhaps a few billion people, it also saddened Me that all the major media outlets had to include, if not end, their “coverage” of His passing with taints and scandals. Granted, the fear-based words of Swami’s naysayers cannot ever touch or mar His Greatness, nor change the verity of His Divine and immortal walk on Earth. But, seeing this sacrilege has inspired Me to set the record straight, and to tell the world exactly Who He was, in His Divine Effulgence. I not only want to do this for Him, part of Me feels I owe this to Him, if, for no other reason, than for all He has done for Me. I, like so many others, would not be Who or where I am if not for the grace of this Avatar.

Simply put, Sathya Sai Baba was and is an Avatar, an incarnation of God on Earth. Contrary to what most of His followers ignorantly claim and believe, He is not the only Avatar on the planet at this time. Sadly, many Christians have this same belief about Jesus. The fact is that God has taken human form on several occasions, and simultaneously, in answer to humanity’s call and cry for help. Both Sai Baba and Jesus themselves knew this (as do all Avatars), and neither ever spoke that they were the only ones.

During His terrestrial sojourn, Sathya Sai Baba embodied the role of the Cosmic Christ for all of humanity. Unique to His Holiness is also the fact that, during His earthly life, He held the highest Light quotient of any human being on the planet. His life and mission were multifaceted and in many ways shall forever remain beyond “human” comprehension. One aspect, though, was clear:  His primary objective was to build faith in a forlorn and despairing world that had long forgotten its connection to Source, to its own Creator. This is why Swami lavished the world and all His devotees with such a jaw-dropping display of the miraculous. It was never to impress. It was to build faith—beyond any reasonable doubt. It was to let all God’s children know that God is real and is here. So many (including many of His followers) lost sight of this, Swami’s greatest gift, instead getting caught up in the pursuit of material gain and attachment, wanting Him to manifest (in Swami’s own words) “trinkets and trash,” rather than take from Him THE greatest gift He could offer:  union with God. Nonetheless, He gave and gave, fulfilling all wishes, all requests, happy only that His children came to Him, reveling in their company, regardless of all motives. Like a true parent, He wanted only for the happiness of His children, and He was willing to do anything to see to it.

As for those who will choose to miss out on Who was in our midst for these past eight decades, I ask of all who do know the Truth of Sai Baba—as your last gift to Him—to offer your understanding, compassion, and forgiveness to these misguided ones. Love them as Swami always did. Know that Pure Love can never be harmed. It can only be embellished.

The world is much, much brighter because of You, dear Swami. What You have given and done for this world and for all of humanity can never be fully counted or measured, not to mention all that You have done in the unseen realms, the tally of which makes Infinity pale in comparison.

Let us all pranam together as we praise Your Holy Name, kiss Your Lotus Feet, and celebrate Your life and message. Your immortal presence shall forever light the hearts of all God’s children in their journey into Oneness.

This process of Divine cause and effect is, likewise, unavoidable. Many people, quite simply, do not like this. They want to luxuriate upon receiving the blessing of so great a Love, but they loathe and despise having to become accountable to that Love. There is an age-old adage, “Much will be given, and much will be demanded.” And while it is true that the Love of all loves knows only to give and give without asking in return, it is not the Giver who demands (as most ignorantly accuse), but the self-replicating, all-perfecting, ever-radiating nature—itself—of the love given, which demands loyalty, obedience, and servitude. Whenever there is resistance to this Universal Law of cause and effect, pain and suffering results. It is a virtual impossibility, however, to have one without the other. The very nature of God’s love is that it first reflects, and then perfects, all that is not of that Love.

It is the nature of God’s love to refine and reform. Thus, I ask that you feel blessed, and that you acknowledge yourselves with pride for having called forth this opportunity for personal growth and expansion. Remember, it is the squeaking wheel that gets the grease. How could you NOT face growth as a result of such an extended exposure to the all-transforming power and presence of God’s love? Be in joy.

I understand, and have great compassion for, the fact that pain often accompanies growth. Consider the pain that many women experience during childbirth. Is there any more profound example of this dynamic in all the world? Look at the new, perfect creation of God that comes forth in spite of, and in many ways because of, all that some mothers endure. The journey to God-realization is, itself, a birthing process. The gestating fetus to which you are giving birth is the full, radiant divinity that has long lain dormant within yourself. It is also important to realize that pain is not a prerequisite for growth. Where there is surrender, there is no pain, regardless of circumstance. This applies to the birthing of an infant, as well as to the birthing of divine consciousness.

My focus is upon two things only: guiding you through the lessons you have brought to My feet, and gifting the world (in answer to its prayer and its cry) with My love and wisdom, the dearth of which has been the cause of much heartache, confusion, hopelessness, and suffering. That is what is real. The rest is all illusion.

I love you with all My heart, with all that I AM. Forever do you remain in My embrace, and forever is My blessing upon you.

May these words bring you joy, upliftment, and a renewed sense of hope and inner peace.

Our journey took us all over India, visiting the mahasamadhi shrines (tombs) of many of the Avatars who have been an instrumental part of My training and/or this ministry over the years. This trip was to not only pay My respects to these Great Ones who helped mould and shape My life, but to directly receive their darshan as well. It was so wonderful to be able to sit at their feet, in the ashrams and centers where they lived and served all the days of their lives.

Driving by car for much of this trip, we were fortunate to see much of the countryside and meet so many people. Needless to say, the pilgrimage far exceeded anything I could have imagined, and I am eternally grateful to every one of you who helped to create or support this trip.

As we are now in the final month of this Year of Adoration, I hope that many of you took full advantage of the Revelations and insights I shared last New Year’s Eve, ones that would help you create the most blissful, peaceful, and successful life possible. I pray that you made the time to deepen and re-create your relationship with God/the Divine and that you are now harvesting the blissful fruits of that investment in your Self.

This year, I have chosen to dedicate My birthday (Dec. 17th) to giving darshan in Los Angeles, continuing a tradition that I began a few years ago. It is widely known that receiving darshan on the Master’s birthday (as well as on His day of liberation) delivers even more amplified blessings and shakti. We are also gearing up for this year’s New Year’s Eve Retreat, to be held at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, in northern San Diego, California. I am so excited to be sharing with all the participants at these two events the myriad and untold blessings I received while in India. As I always say,

“The only thing that surpasses having a profound experience of God
is the joy of sharing that experience with others.”

I shall be traveling with Kharananda Mayi, who is the Director of Sundara Aravinda Ashram in Melbourne, Australia and mentor of all three of My Australian ashrams. I will also be traveling with My first Indian disciple, Hanuman Ramesh, who will serve as our translator, guide, and as My personal assistant. Thanks to you both; may you receive infinitely more than you give, now and always.

The essence of this trip is and has always been a journey to the sites of many of India’s most revered Avatars, both embodied and via their mahasamadhi shrines/sites, where much will be given and received in our mutual exchange. I must give thanks to My most beloved Yogi Ramsuratkumar, who was the source of My initial inspiration and “call” to India. This trip also serves as another vehicle for Me to pay My respects to these Ones who have been so instrumental in My life and in this ministry.

As a way of offering you the opportunity to hold this trip in your consciousness—and to psychically and telepathically connect with Me and receive the highest available Light during this sojourn, I would like to share with you some of the many Avatars I will be visiting:  Avatar Meher Baba, Shirdi Baba, Sathya Sai Baba, Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Ramana Maharshi, Paramahansa Yogananda, Sri Yukteshwar, Paramahansa Ramakrishna, Neem Karoli Baba, Mahavatar Babaji, and Anandamayi Ma. Arunachala in Tiruvannamalai, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and the holy cities of Varanasi and Rishikesh. These constitute the anchor points of this trip, though I am certain that much, much more will happen along the way.

The second reason I am writing to you now, on the eve of My departure, is to thank every person who contributed to making this trip a reality. Whether you donated monies towards the trip, gave of your time, or simply have held this vision for Me, please know that I am grateful beyond words, and your gifts shall return to you, amplified and embellished one thousand-fold. This trip to India is one of the most caring, thoughtful, and beautiful gifts I have ever been given. May you who made it possible be the examples to others—by way of the blessings that shall shower upon you for sending Me to India—of the age-old adage and universal truth:  It is in giving that we receive.

The Difference Between Refined Salt and Unrefined Salt

Introduction

Salt is salt, right? Of course not. Just as there are many different brands of cars, there are many differences in various salt brands. This chapter will focus on the difference between refined and unrefined salt. Salt in its natural form is referred to as unrefined salt. Unrefined salt has not been altered by man. Therefore, it contains many different minerals and elements that are useful for the body.

For example, unrefined sea salt (e.g., Celtic Sea Salt) contains over 80 minerals and elements—all the natural elements necessary for life. This is contrasted with refined salt which contains two major items: sodium and chloride.
 

Refined Salt

How is salt refined? Most commercial refined salt has been harvested mechanically from various salt mines as brine. Brine is a highly concentrated solution of water and salt. Prior to mechanical evaporation, the brine is often treated with chemicals to remove minerals (which are sold for use in industry). The minerals are referred to as “impurities” in salt. These chemicals used to treat refined salt can include sulfuric acid or chlorine. Next, water is evaporated under high compression and heat which disrupts the molecular structure of salt. Finally, almost all of the moisture in the salt is removed in a fluidized-bed dryer.

All food-grade salt available in the U.S. must comply with the National Academy of Science’s Food Chemicals Codex Sodium Chloride Monograph (1996). Up to 2% of food-grade salt may contain anti-caking, free flowing, or conditioning agents. These agents may include sodium ferrocyanide, ammonium citrate, and aluminum silicate. None of these products have any positive effects in the body. Dextrose, also known as refined sugar, is used as a stabilizer so that iodide will stay in the salt. The final purity of food-grade salt is between 99.7-99.95% “pure”. Pure refers to the sodium and chloride content. The other “impurities”, including healthy minerals and elements, have been removed from refined salt.

Why is Salt Refined?

You may be asking yourself the above question. Salt is refined for four main reasons:

1. Refined salt, having all of its minerals removed (i.e., “purified”) is essentially a lifeless product. Being a lifeless product assures a long shelf life. In fact, refined salt can sit on the grocery shelf forever. A long shelf life is a valuable tool to maximize profits for food manufacturers.

2. Manufacturers believe that an all-white salt product will look cleaner to the consumer and, therefore, increase sales. Refined salt is bleached in order to obtain the white color.

3. If the salt is taken from a polluted area, the refining process will remove the toxins associated with the salt.

4. Iodine is added to refined salt to prevent goiter (swelling of the thyroid). However, as pointed out in my book, Iodine, Why You Need It , Why You Can’t Live Without It, there is insufficient iodine in salt to prevent thyroid illnesses or to provide for the body’s iodine needs.
 

Unrefined Salt

As contrasted with refined salt, unrefined salt contains much more than sodium and chloride. Unrefined salt contains all of the elements necessary for life. Celtic Sea Salt (Light Grey) contains 33% sodium, 50.9% chloride, 1.8% minerals and trace elements and 14.3 % moisture. Table 2 shows the major contents of unrefined Celtic Sea Salt. Unrefined salt does not contain appreciable amounts of iodide.

How Is Unrefined Salt Harvested?

Unrefined salt has not been put through various machines to remove the minerals and other elements that are naturally part of the salt. In addition, unrefined salt has not been exposed to harsh chemicals. Finally, unrefined salt will have the minerals and elements associated with its origin.
 

Celtic Sea Salt

In the case of Celtic Sea Salt, it is harvested near the coast of northwestern France. Ocean water is channeled through a series of clay-lined ponds. Next, the wind and sun evaporate the ocean water, leaving mineral rich brine. When the salt farmer gathers the brine using wooden tools, salt crystals begin to form. This is essentially the same method of gathering salt as the ancient Celts used over 2,000 years ago.

This gentle method of gathering the salt ensures that the salt will contain healthy minerals and other elements that are meant to be in salt. There are other sources of unrefined salt besides Celtic Sea Salt. Redmond’s Real Salt® is mined from salt deposits near Redmond, Utah. Redmond’s salt does not undergo a refining process and therefore contains a wide array of minerals. Table 3 gives you the major contents of unrefined Redmond’s Salt.

Why You Should Use Unrefined Salt: The pH Factor

As previously mentioned, unrefined salt has many healthy minerals associated with it. On the other hand, refined salt contains primarily sodium and chloride as well as toxic additives. Unrefined salt is a whole food product which is easily utilized by the body. The additional minerals such as magnesium and potassium are essential for a healthy immune system. These additional agents are meant to be ingested at the same time as sodium and chloride are ingested. Refined salt, in its highly processed form, is an unnatural substance to the body. Over millennia of time, our bodies were not exposed to salt as just sodium and chloride. Humans evolved over time using natural, unrefined salt with its full complement of minerals. Enzymes and hormones in our bodies were designed to utilize salt in its whole, natural form; not in a foreign, refined state.

The consequence of utilizing salt in a devitalized form is a poorly functioning immune system, initiation and acceleration of chronic illness, and promotion of acidity.
 

Acidity and Alkalinity

The pH of the body is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of the body. In an acidic body, the pH is lowered, while in an alkaline body, the pH is elevated. The body has many overlapping mechanisms designed to keep the pH of the body in a neutral statearound pH of 7.2.

When the pH of the body becomes either too acidic or too alkaline, normal physiologic functions decline. The organs of the body (kidneys, liver, brain, etc.,) do not function efficiently unless the pH of the body is neutral (≈7.2). Enzymes, the catalysts for the body, are very sensitive to pH changes. They will lose most of their function when the pH is altered. Immune system cells are unable to protect us when the pH is imbalanced. In fact, no part of the body will work efficiently if the pH is not properly balanced.

An acidic pH is associated with many chronic illnesses including cancer, arthritis, osteoporosis, and Candida, as well as hormonal imbalances. Majid Ali, one of the foremost practitioners in holistic medicine has written that an acidic pH is a marker of the absence of health in the body.
 

Food and pH

The food we eat can have a dramatic effect on pH. Generally, refined foods, devitalized of all the healthy vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, are acidifying to the body. Minerals are one of the most alkalinizing agents to the body. Due to poor diets, many people today are mineral deficient. Mineral deficiency is often associated with a lowered pH (<7.0). Refined salt has no minerals in it, while unrefined salt is loaded with minerals. It is not rocket science to realize that unrefined salt will be better to promote a healthy pH.

In fact, all refined foods, (including refined sugar, flour, oils, etc.) lack minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. When we eat these devitalized foods, our body has to use its own store of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes to break down food. Over time, this will lead to nutrient deficiencies and chronic illness. Furthermore, eating devitalized food leads to acidity in the body. Due the prevalence of refined food, it is no wonder that most people run on the acidic side. My experience has shown that it is impossible to overcome chronic illness when there is an acidic condition present. Cancer and chronic illness are two of the consequences of an acidic pH. Cancer cells will proliferate in an acidic environment. In fact, most chronic illnesses will occur in an acidic environment. It is very difficult to overcome any chronic illness if the pH of the body is acidic (i.e., pH<7.2). In an experiment at home (performed by my daughter Jessi), one teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt in ½ cup of filtered water increased the pH of the water from 6.4 (baseline) to 6.8-7.0. The same amount of refined salt, on the other hand, decreased the pH from 6.4 to 6.0. Refined salt, lacking the buffering effect of the minerals, is an acidifying substance for the body. On the other hand, unrefined salt helps to maintain a more neutral pH and can actually help elevate an acidic pH.

In order to promote a more neutral pH, unrefined salt needs to be the salt of choice. Refined salt should be avoided at all costs.

Sue, 61 years old, has numerous food allergies. Over the years, she has become more and more allergic. Sue was reacting to nearly everything she was in contact with including foods. “I don’t know what to eat. Everything seems to bother me,” she complained. Now, she even has difficulty with taking supplements because she reacts to them. “I can’t even take vitamins because they upset my body. I feel like I am allergic to everything,” she said. Sue had tried different techniques to help her allergies with minimal effects. When I had Sue check the pH of her urine and saliva, she found that her pH was very acidic. Upon further investigation, Sue found that foods containing refined salt caused her pH to become more acidic. She said, “I could not believe that the foods that you eat can change the pH so dramatically.” When Sue removed refined salt from her diet and added Celtic Sea Salt, her pH significantly increased. “The most important thing I found was that when my pH elevated, my food allergies went away. I felt much better. My energy improved and I could think more clearly. Also, I am able to take supplements when my pH is elevated,” she said. Now, Sue monitors her pH daily and adjust her diet accordingly.
 

Final Thoughts

There is a huge difference between refined and unrefined salt. Unrefined salt is packed with essential minerals and supplies the body with a proper balance of sodium and chloride with over 80 trace minerals.

Refined salt is a poor food choice. It has no place in our diet. Without the balancing effect of the trace minerals, refined salt provides the body with too much sodium. Sodium was meant to be ingested with its complement of trace minerals. The consequences of the ingestion of large amounts of refined salt are mineral deficiencies, acidity, and the onset of chronic illness. Unrefined salt should be the salt of choice. My clinical experience clearly shows that this is a healthier salt choice, as compared to refined salt.

Many have come to know Ram Dass by way of his breakout bestseller, Be Here Now, which he wrote about and after his time spent in India, in the divine company of his Guru, Neem Karoli Baba. Himself an embodiment of Hanuman (the Hindu deity known as the embodiment of devotion, and celebrated for his devotion to his Master, Rama), it is no wonder that so much of Neem Karoli Baba’s life and message was to inspire in others that same fathomless level of devotion to God and Guru. What is most fascinating about Neem Karoli Baba is his utter simplicity. Spending much of his time sitting upon his “tucket,” devotees would surround him and drink of the love he emanated, all the while becoming more and more devoted to him… thereby to God… and ultimately to self—the whole meaning, magic, and purpose of devotion. This book is itself a lesson and training in the Art of Devotion.

Those who choose to see devotion as an act of weakness have yet to discover why Bhakti yoga is the highest—and fastest—path to God-realization. Why is that? Simply put:  Devotion is quickest path to self-love, and the journey to God-realization is the journey into absolute and total, unconditional love of and for all aspects of self. And it is by our devotion to another (and all others) that we master loving ourselves. Add to that the fact that, when your gaze and devotion is directed at a God-realized being, you are receiving the darshan of that one (his blessing, which is an infusion of his actual God-vibration), you are receiving a direct transference of spiritual power, and you are accelerating your soul’s evolution faster than by any other means available to humankind.

Reading this book will change the way many people see the act of devotion. It is My intention and hope that, by reading this (and other books by and about fully God-realized Masters), you will find greater strength, inspiration, encouragement, and will become smitten with a newfound love of God. The Power of Words Over Water

Can water be affected by our words? Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist, believes so. And he has proof.
 

Dr. Emoto took water droplets, exposed them to various words, music, and environments, and froze them for three hours. He then examined the crystal formations under a dark field microscope. And he took photographs. The results were totally mind-blowing.

Here’s a photo of ordinary water without any prayer spoken over it.
The molecular structure is in disarray.

Wait A Minute—Aren’t You Made Up Of Water?

Yes! 72% of your body is made up of water. Imagine how your words affect your own body. When you say, “I’m a failure,” or “I’m hopeless,” or “I won’t get well,” imagine how these words weaken your health. Make a choice to say the best words out there. Say often, “I’m wonderful,” “I’m beautiful,” “I’m God’s child,” and “God has a great plan for my life!” It’s not only water.

Dr. Emoto also experimented with cooked rice. He placed one cup of cooked rice in two airtight jars. On one jar, he wrote, “I love you,” and on the other, “You fool.” Everyday for 30 days, Dr. Emoto would say these words to each jar of rice. After 30 days, the “I love you” rice was still white. But the “You fool” rice was so rotten, it was black. How can you explain this?

Just as a side note: When I was a child, my mother taught me to pray before meals. Now I realize it wasn’t just a nice thing to do. When I pray over my meal, I know a material transformation takes place in the molecular level of the food that I pray for. I say, “Be blessed,” to the water and food on the table—and I expect it to be blessed. I encourage you to speak words of truth. Dethrone the lies in your mind. Say, “I’m beautiful.” Say, “I’m a wonderful person.” Say, “I have a great future.” Say, “I’m anointed. I’m strong. I’m blessed.”
 

Louix:  People have often said, “You are what you think.” Now you can also clearly see that, “You are what you speak.”

 “Where your consciousness goes, your consciousness grows.”

Speak only love. Think only love. Feel only love. Choose only love. Act only love.

Hello beloveds,

In alignment with our Foundation’s “green” initiatives, I feel it is important to relay this information about the upcoming “Earth Hour 2010,” to take place on March 27, 2010 (Saturday), during which people all over the world will be turning off their lights for one hour beginning at precisely 8:30 p.m. (in their respective time zones). The rippling wave of darkness that will wash over the globe spanning a 24-hour period of “one hour of no lights” will be a dazzling spectacle to behold. Last year almost one billion people participated. This year could easily become the most heavily participated event in world history. To think:  You and I could be a part of it.

Let us join together and send this message throughout the world and throughout the entire Cosmos—about conserving our natural resources, going “green,” developing freer and cleaner energy supplies… and (let us not forget) about this being a colossal event to weave all humanity more and more deeply together as one Family in the heart of God.

On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people, organizations, corporations, and governments around the world will come together to make a bold statement about their concern for climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. In places where people are already feeling the impacts of climate change, Earth Hour sends a clear message that we care about this issue and want to turn the lights out on dirty air, dangerous dependency on oil, and costly climate change impacts, and make the switch to cleaner air, and a strong economic future.

Anza-Borrego Desert, in Southern California, is known for having the most colorful Spring bloom of any desert on Earth. This past April (2009), during a three-day men’s vision quest which I led in the most remote part of this vast wilderness, I took camera in hand to capture the surreal beauty which spontaneously rises out of this scorched earth for a few short weeks each year. I ask Myself why it took Me three weeks (after his passing) to write a tribute to the great soul known to this world as Michael Jackson. The reason is very clear:  I have found it difficult to even begin to condense the scope, breadth, expanse, and impact of his life, talent, love, caring, genius, and legacy into any number of words, much less into merely a couple of paragraphs. Tonight, as I sat before My keyboard, composing this eulogy, I began by spending two hours on the Internet, viewing song after song, video after video, tribute after tribute… saturating Myself with his sweet and melodious voice, gazing upon the innocence and beauty of this magical anomaly of a human being, and becoming all the more entranced by his unique and inimitable presence.

The Divine Light which used Michael Jackson as Its muse was, much as in the case of Mozart, was too intense and vast to be harnessed by the limitations of his human embodiment. Obviously knowing this, in His infinite omniscience and grace, God managed to fit Michael Jackson’s entire career and legacy into his short 50 years on Earth, leaving us an archive and treasure trove of music, inspiration, philanthropy, and caring, on a scale rarely if ever seen in this world, not even by ones who outlived him by decades. Perhaps this is why superstardom claimed Michael before the age of 10, allowing him to reach millions with a level of talent, artistry, professionalism, maturity, depth, sensitivity, and soul that usually emerges—in the greatest of talents—in their later years. Clearly, God made accommodations for all of this and more.

Michael was not only the greatest and most innovative contemporary freestyle dancer who ever lived, as well as one of the greatest singers and songwriters, he was also a hero—especially to the children of the world, possibly the greatest in all of recorded history. He was and is the champion of children, and now (through his passing) a modern-day patron saint for their cause, their welfare, their future, and their rightful place as the wayshowers for humanity. Many children (in the 40+ years of Michael’s professional career) are themselves now adults, and they attribute their place in the world, their chosen paths and all success attained therein, to the example set by this angel from heaven, by his fierce and relentless commitment to goodness, individuality, perseverance, and freedom of expression. It is an understatement to say that Michael Jackson will continue to fill this niche for society—and continue to reign as its king—long after the day of his passing has faded from memory.

Though many are heartbroken by your physical departure, Michael, most would agree that you lived a full life, perhaps another testimonial of the vastness of your talent. I thank God for giving humanity the invention of recording equipment—and the media to use it—before sending you into our midst. How fortunate for us all, that you will continue to live in our hearts, igniting and inspiring joy and happiness in our lives with your eternal youthfulness, your spirit of hope for this world, and with your limitless talent and musical gifts. Thank you, Michael, for being My friend, and for being an everlasting friend to this world.

The greatest gift I can give you, in return for all you have given Me, is to even further deepen My commitment to unite all peoples, cultures, races, and religions into one heart, one Love… in God’s most holy name.

Your vision for this world shall be fulfilled, beloved soul. To this end, I dedicate My life.

On a side note, clove oil (the main ingredient in Thieves) is one of the best remedies for toothaches, when applied directly onto the gums around the ailing tooth. This oil is quite potent, though, and may be difficult for small children and some adults, so use carefully and sparingly.

One of my issues that came up for me for healing, which came up through my time with You, beloved Guruji, was regarding being with a guy when I was at age 25. This man really tried to do me in… I mean he possibly would have killed me had I not finally become free of him. Everything from physical beatings, verbal assaults, sado-masochistic sex, financial dependence on him,  regular humiliations, mind control, satanic practices, isolating me and turning me against my family and friends,  sleep deprivation—all of this over a five-month period.

I prayed to God for help and was able to leave my virtual imprisonment, and have been on the road with God in my heart ever since. So I understand that, because of the pain this man inflicted on me, I then was able to turn to God and surrender (then), and that was such a great gift. But I still had (and have) fears about being in a vulnerable position like that. And I realize that there is nothing—absolutely nothing—in Your example, in Your behaviour with me or any others, with Your teachings, with anything that I have ever heard You say or do, that could anyway indicate that You are anything other than Loving. Yet, my fears (again dissolving as I write this) are that my surrender to You might lead to my being harmed in any of these ways.

It is another great lila, dear Guruji:  where You are showing me the healing, offering this to me, and I accept it now. These memories… they are not the truth of who I am. They are something to be given to the Light and thanked and blessed for their place in my life at that time. Yes, these events did bring me to God; and, yes, yes, (the truth of what You have spoken about) this man has played a great role in my life by playing the role of hurting me, something that only a truly loving soul could and would do for me. I forgive him. I forgive him. I was scared before—terrified—but now I am free to forgive. I am stronger and wiser, and I can love him.

Lots of tears are flowing now, Guruji. Thank You for this gift. I hope I can continue loving and forgiving. Your grace has triggered this release in me.

It is with great joy that I offer this holiday message as we approach the end of 2008, The Year of Rebirth. And what a year this has been… for Myself, as I know it has been for many of you, and, as we can all see, so it has been for the world. So many changes. So many beginnings and endings. So much ahead….

During these year-end holidays, for many it is an important time to celebrate and show our gratefulness for whatever we have in life, and the act of feasting is a way to acknowledge, nurture, and reward oneself for all the labors given over the months that have passed. However, watching all the madness, the suffering, the warring, the earth changes, and the economic collapse in this year alone—the latter of which has had devastating effects in many sectors of society and in our lives, many people are finding themselves torn about how they can, in good conscience, truly “celebrate” this holiday season (much less indulge), when so many are suffering like never before.

At the same time, what is happening in the world now has also created a need for showing even greater empathy and compassion for the plights of others. There is a more urgent need than ever to share, to serve, to help our sisters and brothers all over the world, in our own communities, and in our own families. This dynamic shall increase over time, and soon no longer be an “option” as it is now; it will be a mandate, one of the solutions to this world crisis. Increasing crises and collapse—and the interdependence they will, by Divine design, create amongst all nations and cultures—will be a major factor in ending the wars, drawing the human race together, and restoring it as one family.

Questions arise as to just how to find the right balance, how to celebrate the holidays when so many others are in pain. It is for this reason that I have written this letter. There is a way that each of us can celebrate this holiday season and be assisting those in need, and it will not cost anyone anything but a good dose of caring and a little of your time. While most people know how sharing what you have can help others, few know the true alchemy of what Sacrifice can do to serve, uplift, and transmute the circumstances and suffering of others.

The holiday program I have designed has two parts:  one is sacrifice; the other is service. What I am inviting everyone to do this Christmas—as your gift to this world, and even more so to yourself—is to sacrifice your usual holiday traditions as a great act of compassion and empathy for others:  the poor, the war-torn, the ailing, and of course the millions who have been suddenly and drastically affected by the rapid economic collapse that has happened this year. What this would entail would be to relinquish the usual feasting that most people enjoy during the holiday season. At the very least (if you must eat), have the simplest, most humble meal you could make on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day; at the very most, choose perhaps to enter a 24-hour fast (to whatever degree you know your body can safely handle this—be it water only, or juices only, or fruit only, etc.), in the knowing that this will alchemically transfer the food (you would have had) to others who are without food; in the knowing that it will also create food in places where there is/was none. Naturally, you must honor your bodies and feed your children, engaging in any type of fasting only in a way and to the degree that you can.

The other sacrifice I am inviting everyone to consider this year is that of gift giving and receiving. In much of the world, the gross consumerism that happens in December is (for most, though not all) not only spawned by a tragic blend of guilt, obligation, and sense gratification, but also creates more pollution and waste on this planet than in most of the prior 11 months—combined. Please consider sacrificing the whole “obligated” gift buying theme and routine this season. Instead, base whatever gifts you do buy or give on a person’s need, rather than on wants or desires—yours or theirs. Find people in need and give there. Maybe it won’t even be a relative (many of whom might be receiving gifts from other friends and relatives anyway), but a child in your neighborhood, a needy family from your child’s school, someone in a hospice or hospital, an elderly person whom you know is lonely and alone. For others, maybe your sacrifice could be to simply put fewer people on your gift-giving list.

For those who will still be giving gifts, perhaps you could practice a tradition I began years ago, one which is practiced every year in all My ashrams and centers:  gifting another with some special keepsake or item of your own, which you treasure. This form of “green” or “eco-friendly” gift giving not only reduces consumerism and waste, it also infuses your gift with a very big part of your own heart and soul. Sacrificing something that means a great deal to you creates love and healing in and for the recipient. It also creates abundance in the world and reduces poverty. The more you treasure the item you are gifting, the greater transmuting power that gift wields. Another wonderful tradition is to make a gift to the poor in the name of your intended recipient. For example:  As the present for your niece or nephew, you could purchase a goat or 10 chickens or a month’s supply of water for a family in a Third World country. Or you could sponsor a child—either with schooling, clothes, etc. One of the best websites I have found serving this purpose is www.worldvision.org. The inner fulfillment this brings, to giver and recipient—knowing that you personally saved several human lives by sacrificing something so simple as one Christmas present—will only be surpassed by the alchemical impact this offering will have on that family or village.

Of course I am in no way saying to stop giving gifts; quite the contrary. What I am doing is redefining what and how we give, expanding it in a way that brings untold blessings to giver and recipient… to, truly, the whole of humanity.

The second part of this year’s offering is to be in service as your way of celebrating the holidays. There are many organizations in the major cities which serve free meals to the poor on Christmas Day, some of them needing hundreds of volunteers to feed the multitudes who come from far and wide. Other forms of service this Christmas might be visiting with children in intensive care wards of hospitals, children who physically cannot spend the holidays at home; visiting with the elderly in nursing homes, some of whom have no families or whose families do not visit them over the holidays; or serving at an A.I.D.S. or other kind of hospice.

One of the greatest gifts you can ever give another person is a moment of your time.

I humbly ask that you consider sharing and spending this holiday season in this way. I promise that you will be glad you did. As for Myself, I will be going far into California’s desert wilderness, away from all contact with civilization, on a three-day fast, spent almost entirely in prayer and meditation to source this program while it is being participated in by My beloveds worldwide. I shall hold you all in My prayers and in My heart. And I know that many of you will find yourselves, come January 1st, joyously telling others of all the miraculous and wondrous experiences you just had, the most auspicious of which will be the warmth and fulfillment you feel in your heart.

May your holiday season be filled with peace, love, and joy…

It is with tremendous joy that I write to you on this momentous occasion, the presentation of our brand-new website! and, within this site, this section entitled From the Desk of The Master. This section of the website is dedicated to My writing of occasional letters and announcements, as well as for giving recommendations and endorsements for films, books, and other projects or resources of value for one’s spiritual development. I might also on occasion answer letters or specific questions here (if they are germane to a particular point or message I wish to convey in this column), though Q&A’s will by and large be found in another section dedicated specifically to this. It is, in essence, a special place where I can commune with you directly, quickly, and most efficiently. I look forward to our burgeoning relationship through this column.

I wish to thank all of you, our readers and listeners, for your patience over these past nine months while the new site has been under construction. Our beautiful seva team has created many new features—including the advent of video and film, along with a much more user friendly navigation system. This being merely Phase One of the new site, there are many more surprises in store, to enhance your experience on www.Louix.org (our new and much simpler name). Please feel free to write to the webmaster at any time, sending your comments, feedback, suggestions for improvements, corrections, or requests for other features you would like to see.

Thirdly, I must publicly thank our web team for their devotion to this project, for their truly selfless service (as most all of them also carry full-time day jobs and have been putting in up to 70-hour weeks to bring this project to completion), and for the beauty, talent, and grace you all infused into this project. You have done a great service for many who will come to this wellspring to drink. My words fall infinitely short of conveying the depths of My gratitude to all of you, who have given so much of yourselves to create such a beautiful work of art and treasure trove of learning and spiritual sustenance and inspiration. I thank you with all My heart.

I also wish to thank you, beloved readers and listeners, for your understanding of our need and choice to close the website while it was under construction (I know that many people had difficulty with this decision). This ministry has undergone so many colossal and rapid changes this year that the existing site simply no longer represented our mission in a befitting level of grace and accuracy. We deliberated long over this choice and unanimously knew it was the only way. So, I thank you for your patience and understanding. I hope you find that it was worth the wait.

As I stated in My Divine dispensation delivered on 31 December 2007, when I proclaimed 2008 as The Year of Rebirth, clearly has this been so for this website, Myself personally, and for this ministry at large—as I am sure many of you have no doubt seen in and for your own lives. Perhaps you might peruse that discourse once again, delivered some ten months ago (it can be found on this new site, in our video section of the teachings). Timely it is, as this Year of Rebirth begins to draw to a close, that our website now emerges from its chrysalis, in synchronicity with many of you/us who are emerging from your/our own, all in God’s perfect timing and will… as everything is.

Of all the books I have read about God-realized beings, this one is a standout among standouts. It is quite possibly the most amazing, humbling, and inspiring book I have ever read about a living Master. This book has changed My life (and it just so happens that I read it earlier this year, in 2008). Anyone who reads this book will gain an entirely new understanding of the Greater meaning of “God’s will,” as well as its application to our day-to-day circumstances—particularly the difficult or troublesome ones. Furthermore, this mahatma’s life will gift you with the quintessential understanding of the words “surrender,” “faith,” “humility,” and “acceptance”—the four divine character traits most needed in this time of rapid upheaval and change.

Timely this book is, especially now, as many are being confronted by a rapidly changing world which is challenging so many people’s fierce desire to maintain control of their lives, as (what they thought to be) the bedrock foundations thereof are suddenly and seemingly turning to quicksand. Yogi Ramsuratkumar’s astounding (nay, “jaw-dropping!”) example of surrender and unequivocal acceptance of all circumstances and events will gift the reader the strength and understanding necessary to easily and gracefully move through this pivotal time in Earth’s history. Yogiji’s life is a role model that will stand tallest among the annals of time, and a barometer by which unconditional surrender and acceptance can and must be measured.

This book is more than a “read” of his life. When you reach the back cover, you will verily have walked with him—and in his shoes, as well as in the shoes of those who walked with him and witnessed the miracle of his selfless and unlimited love. To say I highly recommend this book is a gross understatement. This is a “must read” if ever there was one. You might just find this book to be a permanent fixture by your desk or nightstand (as it is for Me), an oracle and friend in the worst and best of times.
