Those who follow My teachings on health and nutrition are aware of the importance I place upon the consumption of "superfoods" as part of our daily practices. They not only give us far greater types and amounts of nutrients, they also bring much higher prana (life force energy) into our bodies—the primary (i.e. higher) function of eating in the first place, since it is prana that sustains our life. Food, as I have said before, is merely one of the major vehicles which deliver prana into our bodies. It is for this reason that eating superfoods (as well as raw foods) helps us to reduce our overall food intake). Unrefined sea salt is one such superfood (Celtic, Redmonds, and Himalayan pink salt—all are sea salts, even though two are harvested on land—being three of the best and richest in the world). While salt is often labeled by nutritionists as unhealthy and even dangerous for the body, it is refined (a.k.a. table) salt which has earned this acclaimed title. Refined salt not only does not provide us with the many minerals we need, it actually leaches minerals from the body! In other words, it is more than unhealthy; it is toxic to the body. On the other hand, unrefined sea salt is a necessary food, the balanced consumption of which has many positive effects on the body. The Difference Between Refined Salt and Unrefined Salt

Introduction

Salt is salt, right? Of course not. Just as there are many different brands of cars, there are many differences in various salt brands. This chapter will focus on the difference between refined and unrefined salt. Salt in its natural form is referred to as unrefined salt. Unrefined salt has not been altered by man. Therefore, it contains many different minerals and elements that are useful for the body.

For example, unrefined sea salt (e.g., Celtic Sea Salt) contains over 80 minerals and elements—all the natural elements necessary for life. This is contrasted with refined salt which contains two major items: sodium and chloride.

Refined Salt

How is salt refined? Most commercial refined salt has been harvested mechanically from various salt mines as brine. Brine is a highly concentrated solution of water and salt. Prior to mechanical evaporation, the brine is often treated with chemicals to remove minerals (which are sold for use in industry). The minerals are referred to as “impurities” in salt. These chemicals used to treat refined salt can include sulfuric acid or chlorine. Next, water is evaporated under high compression and heat which disrupts the molecular structure of salt. Finally, almost all of the moisture in the salt is removed in a fluidized-bed dryer.

All food-grade salt available in the U.S. must comply with the National Academy of Science’s Food Chemicals Codex Sodium Chloride Monograph (1996). Up to 2% of food-grade salt may contain anti-caking, free flowing, or conditioning agents. These agents may include sodium ferrocyanide, ammonium citrate, and aluminum silicate. None of these products have any positive effects in the body. Dextrose, also known as refined sugar, is used as a stabilizer so that iodide will stay in the salt. The final purity of food-grade salt is between 99.7-99.95% “pure”. Pure refers to the sodium and chloride content. The other “impurities”, including healthy minerals and elements, have been removed from refined salt.

Why is Salt Refined?

You may be asking yourself the above question. Salt is refined for four main reasons:

1. Refined salt, having all of its minerals removed (i.e., “purified”) is essentially a lifeless product. Being a lifeless product assures a long shelf life. In fact, refined salt can sit on the grocery shelf forever. A long shelf life is a valuable tool to maximize profits for food manufacturers.

2. Manufacturers believe that an all-white salt product will look cleaner to the consumer and, therefore, increase sales. Refined salt is bleached in order to obtain the white color.

3. If the salt is taken from a polluted area, the refining process will remove the toxins associated with the salt.

4. Iodine is added to refined salt to prevent goiter (swelling of the thyroid). However, as pointed out in my book, Iodine, Why You Need It , Why You Can’t Live Without It, there is insufficient iodine in salt to prevent thyroid illnesses or to provide for the body’s iodine needs.

Unrefined Salt

As contrasted with refined salt, unrefined salt contains much more than sodium and chloride. Unrefined salt contains all of the elements necessary for life. Celtic Sea Salt (Light Grey) contains 33% sodium, 50.9% chloride, 1.8% minerals and trace elements and 14.3 % moisture. Table 2 shows the major contents of unrefined Celtic Sea Salt. Unrefined salt does not contain appreciable amounts of iodide.

How Is Unrefined Salt Harvested?

Unrefined salt has not been put through various machines to remove the minerals and other elements that are naturally part of the salt. In addition, unrefined salt has not been exposed to harsh chemicals. Finally, unrefined salt will have the minerals and elements associated with its origin.

Celtic Sea Salt

In the case of Celtic Sea Salt, it is harvested near the coast of northwestern France. Ocean water is channeled through a series of clay-lined ponds. Next, the wind and sun evaporate the ocean water, leaving mineral rich brine. When the salt farmer gathers the brine using wooden tools, salt crystals begin to form. This is essentially the same method of gathering salt as the ancient Celts used over 2,000 years ago.

This gentle method of gathering the salt ensures that the salt will contain healthy minerals and other elements that are meant to be in salt. There are other sources of unrefined salt besides Celtic Sea Salt. Redmond’s Real Salt® is mined from salt deposits near Redmond, Utah. Redmond’s salt does not undergo a refining process and therefore contains a wide array of minerals. Table 3 gives you the major contents of unrefined Redmond’s Salt.

Why You Should Use Unrefined Salt: The pH Factor

As previously mentioned, unrefined salt has many healthy minerals associated with it. On the other hand, refined salt contains primarily sodium and chloride as well as toxic additives. Unrefined salt is a whole food product which is easily utilized by the body. The additional minerals such as magnesium and potassium are essential for a healthy immune system. These additional agents are meant to be ingested at the same time as sodium and chloride are ingested. Refined salt, in its highly processed form, is an unnatural substance to the body. Over millennia of time, our bodies were not exposed to salt as just sodium and chloride. Humans evolved over time using natural, unrefined salt with its full complement of minerals. Enzymes and hormones in our bodies were designed to utilize salt in its whole, natural form; not in a foreign, refined state.

The consequence of utilizing salt in a devitalized form is a poorly functioning immune system, initiation and acceleration of chronic illness, and promotion of acidity.

Acidity and Alkalinity

The pH of the body is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of the body. In an acidic body, the pH is lowered, while in an alkaline body, the pH is elevated. The body has many overlapping mechanisms designed to keep the pH of the body in a neutral statearound pH of 7.2.

When the pH of the body becomes either too acidic or too alkaline, normal physiologic functions decline. The organs of the body (kidneys, liver, brain, etc.,) do not function efficiently unless the pH of the body is neutral (≈7.2). Enzymes, the catalysts for the body, are very sensitive to pH changes. They will lose most of their function when the pH is altered. Immune system cells are unable to protect us when the pH is imbalanced. In fact, no part of the body will work efficiently if the pH is not properly balanced.

An acidic pH is associated with many chronic illnesses including cancer, arthritis, osteoporosis, and Candida, as well as hormonal imbalances. Majid Ali, one of the foremost practitioners in holistic medicine has written that an acidic pH is a marker of the absence of health in the body.

Food and pH

The food we eat can have a dramatic effect on pH. Generally, refined foods, devitalized of all the healthy vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, are acidifying to the body. Minerals are one of the most alkalinizing agents to the body. Due to poor diets, many people today are mineral deficient. Mineral deficiency is often associated with a lowered pH (<7.0). Refined salt has no minerals in it, while unrefined salt is loaded with minerals. It is not rocket science to realize that unrefined salt will be better to promote a healthy pH.

In fact, all refined foods, (including refined sugar, flour, oils, etc.) lack minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. When we eat these devitalized foods, our body has to use its own store of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes to break down food. Over time, this will lead to nutrient deficiencies and chronic illness. Furthermore, eating devitalized food leads to acidity in the body. Due the prevalence of refined food, it is no wonder that most people run on the acidic side. My experience has shown that it is impossible to overcome chronic illness when there is an acidic condition present. Cancer and chronic illness are two of the consequences of an acidic pH. Cancer cells will proliferate in an acidic environment. In fact, most chronic illnesses will occur in an acidic environment. It is very difficult to overcome any chronic illness if the pH of the body is acidic (i.e., pH<7.2). In an experiment at home (performed by my daughter Jessi), one teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt in ½ cup of filtered water increased the pH of the water from 6.4 (baseline) to 6.8-7.0. The same amount of refined salt, on the other hand, decreased the pH from 6.4 to 6.0. Refined salt, lacking the buffering effect of the minerals, is an acidifying substance for the body. On the other hand, unrefined salt helps to maintain a more neutral pH and can actually help elevate an acidic pH.

In order to promote a more neutral pH, unrefined salt needs to be the salt of choice. Refined salt should be avoided at all costs.

Sue, 61 years old, has numerous food allergies. Over the years, she has become more and more allergic. Sue was reacting to nearly everything she was in contact with including foods. “I don’t know what to eat. Everything seems to bother me,” she complained. Now, she even has difficulty with taking supplements because she reacts to them. “I can’t even take vitamins because they upset my body. I feel like I am allergic to everything,” she said. Sue had tried different techniques to help her allergies with minimal effects. When I had Sue check the pH of her urine and saliva, she found that her pH was very acidic. Upon further investigation, Sue found that foods containing refined salt caused her pH to become more acidic. She said, “I could not believe that the foods that you eat can change the pH so dramatically.” When Sue removed refined salt from her diet and added Celtic Sea Salt, her pH significantly increased. “The most important thing I found was that when my pH elevated, my food allergies went away. I felt much better. My energy improved and I could think more clearly. Also, I am able to take supplements when my pH is elevated,” she said. Now, Sue monitors her pH daily and adjust her diet accordingly.

Final Thoughts

There is a huge difference between refined and unrefined salt. Unrefined salt is packed with essential minerals and supplies the body with a proper balance of sodium and chloride with over 80 trace minerals.

Refined salt is a poor food choice. It has no place in our diet. Without the balancing effect of the trace minerals, refined salt provides the body with too much sodium. Sodium was meant to be ingested with its complement of trace minerals. The consequences of the ingestion of large amounts of refined salt are mineral deficiencies, acidity, and the onset of chronic illness. Unrefined salt should be the salt of choice. My clinical experience clearly shows that this is a healthier salt choice, as compared to refined salt.

Himself an embodiment of Hanuman (the Hindu deity known as the embodiment of devotion, and celebrated for his devotion to his Master, Rama), it is no wonder that so much of Neem Karoli Baba’s life and message was to inspire in others that same fathomless level of devotion to God and Guru. What is most fascinating about Neem Karoli Baba is his utter simplicity. Spending much of his time sitting upon his “tucket,” devotees would surround him and drink of the love he emanated, all the while becoming more and more devoted to him… thereby to God… and ultimately to self—the whole meaning, magic, and purpose of devotion. This book is itself a lesson and training in the Art of Devotion.

Those who choose to see devotion as an act of weakness have yet to discover why Bhakti yoga is the highest—and fastest—path to God-realization. Why is that? Simply put: Devotion is quickest path to self-love, and the journey to God-realization is the journey into absolute and total, unconditional love of and for all aspects of self. And it is by our devotion to another (and all others) that we master loving ourselves. Add to that the fact that, when your gaze and devotion is directed at a God-realized being, you are receiving the darshan of that one (his blessing, which is an infusion of his actual God-vibration), you are receiving a direct transference of spiritual power, and you are accelerating your soul’s evolution faster than by any other means available to humankind.

Reading this book will change the way many people see the act of devotion. It is My intention and hope that, by reading this (and other books by and about fully God-realized Masters), you will find greater strength, inspiration, encouragement, and will become smitten with a newfound love of God. How do I stop hurting my children?

Q: I need to put my own hurts and pains around my upbringing aside so that I allow room in my heart and in my consciousness for my children. I have projected all over my children, and have felt that I have been suffocating them out of my own fears and wounds. Yet, the other day, I simply made a decision to be loving in every moment. Can You give me any insights?

A: You have it backwards! It is by loving your children and serving them, caring for them, that you vicariously heal all the hurts, pains, and wounds from your own childhood. This is the antithesis of “pushing yourself aside” (i.e. repressing your pain); instead, you use your wounds and pain as the impetus and inspiration to be the best, most loving father these children could ever have wanted. It is in this way that you heal those wounds. When you repress your wounds and issues, you automatically amplify them and pass them on to your children.

The cure for projecting your negativity onto your children is not projecting on them, and it is as easy as that! Go buy yourself a punching bag, and you can hit (project on) that or go out for a jog whenever you feel the need or desire to vent your anger and frustration.

Choosing to be love is also remarkably easy, not to mention its being your natural state, as created in God’s image. It takes infinitely more effort and energy to be non-loving than to be loving—said effort also being the primary cause of most all aging and disease that afflicts one’s otherwise immortal body and soul.

The Power of Words Over Water

Can water be affected by our words? Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist, believes so. And he has proof.

Dr. Emoto took water droplets, exposed them to various words, music, and environments, and froze them for three hours. He then examined the crystal formations under a dark field microscope. And he took photographs. The results were totally mind-blowing.

Here’s a photo of ordinary water without any prayer spoken over it.
The molecular structure is in disarray.

The photo below is water after the prayer was said. It’s simply breathtaking.
(I now have a great respect for praying before meals! More on this later.)

Wait A Minute—Aren’t You Made Up Of Water?

Yes! 72% of your body is made up of water. Imagine how your words affect your own body. When you say, “I’m a failure,” or “I’m hopeless,” or “I won’t get well,” imagine how these words weaken your health. Make a choice to say the best words out there. Say often, “I’m wonderful,” “I’m beautiful,” “I’m God’s child,” and “God has a great plan for my life!” It’s not only water.

Dr. Emoto also experimented with cooked rice. He placed one cup of cooked rice in two airtight jars. On one jar, he wrote, “I love you,” and on the other, “You fool.” Everyday for 30 days, Dr. Emoto would say these words to each jar of rice. After 30 days, the “I love you” rice was still white. But the “You fool” rice was so rotten, it was black. How can you explain this?

Just as a side note: When I was a child, my mother taught me to pray before meals. Now I realize it wasn’t just a nice thing to do. When I pray over my meal, I know a material transformation takes place in the molecular level of the food that I pray for. I say, “Be blessed,” to the water and food on the table—and I expect it to be blessed. I encourage you to speak words of truth. Dethrone the lies in your mind. Say, “I’m beautiful.” Say, “I’m a wonderful person.” Say, “I have a great future.” Say, “I’m anointed. I’m strong. I’m blessed.”

Louix: People have often said, “You are what you think.” Now you can also clearly see that, “You are what you speak.”

“Where your consciousness goes, your consciousness grows.”

Speak only love. Think only love. Feel only love. Choose only love. Act only love.

Is my new girlfriend my twin flame?

Q: I have just met the most wonderful woman, and I would really appreciate if You could tell me if she is my twin flame.

A: As far as your question about this woman possibly being your twin flame, it is very clear that you have forgotten one of the fundamentals of My teachings:

“God is your twin flame.”

You will never find completion outside of self. Your twin flame is not a person. It is your relationship with The Beloved. Everyone who comes asking Me, “Is this my twin flame?” is totally on the wrong track. You are setting yourself up for a very large upset if you continue in this pursuit of a “twin flame.”

What I will tell you, and what serves your soul’s highest and best interests, is to follow your heart. If you feel close to this woman, and your heart stirs when you are with her, then just allow the process to unfold naturally. Stay out of your head in trying to figure out the outcome. Remember this:

“You do not journey to a goal. The journey is the goal.”

Hello beloveds,

In alignment with our Foundation’s “green” initiatives, I feel it is important to relay this information about the upcoming “Earth Hour 2010,” to take place on March 27, 2010 (Saturday), during which people all over the world will be turning off their lights for one hour beginning at precisely 8:30 p.m. (in their respective time zones). The rippling wave of darkness that will wash over the globe spanning a 24-hour period of “one hour of no lights” will be a dazzling spectacle to behold. Last year almost one billion people participated. This year could easily become the most heavily participated event in world history. To think: You and I could be a part of it.

Let us join together and send this message throughout the world and throughout the entire Cosmos—about conserving our natural resources, going “green,” developing freer and cleaner energy supplies… and (let us not forget) about this being a colossal event to weave all humanity more and more deeply together as one Family in the heart of God.

Dearest Pranananda,

Hello dear Teacher… I have a profound story to share with You, regarding an act of kindness You gifted me recently, and how much it meant to me.

Last week, I returned from an 11-day, silent, Vipassana meditation retreat. If You’re not aware of this technique, Vipassana (in a nutshell) asks participants to go deep into the sensations of their bodies, and learn to and remain neutral to what comes up, as a vehicle for just being with (i.e. accepting) “what is.” During what they call “Strong Sittings of Determination,” we sit for at least an hour—without moving a muscle—going deep into these sensations, and acting as the impartial observer as much as is possible. Our meditation schedule was intensely rigorous: 10 hours and 45 minutes a day, honoring noble silence for 10 of the 11 days… very little food… just depth, introspection, observation, and being with what is.

On Day 4 of the adventure, they taught us the really deep part of the meditation technique, and that’s when it was requested that we stop moving for an hour at a time. I had a story running through my head—that I wouldn’t be able to do it, that I simply didn’t have the stillness or stamina to stop moving, nor did I have the strength to remain impervious to the pain I knew would surface. But something had clicked in me earlier in the day: I had felt a deep trust in this process, sensing how much it could help me, and I decided to give it my all. If I could sit still for this first one-hour experience, then I would stay, knowing it was in fact “for me,” and that I was capable of completing this intense process.

Roughly forty minutes in, I started caving in. The pain in my body felt devastatingly intense, and I felt as if I had nothing to hold onto. At the very moment I was about to give up and move, giving in to my ego’s desires, Your image lit up in front of me. “Why don't you ever call on Me for help?” You asked me gently (or not so gently, if I recall correctly.) I really didn’t have an answer (something about being stubborn). “Do you remember what I said to You, the day you acknowledged that I am your Guru?”

“Yes, I do. You said that You would never do anything that wouldn’t serve me.” I watched Your eyes very intently, and then finally uttered the words, inside my mind: “Pranananda, please help.” All You did then is lock Your gaze directly onto mine. I stared deeply into Your eyes and totally lost myself, as well as the story of the pain, the resistance to the process. Everything became fluid, and my strength rose up to greet my struggling mind. We shared a smile, and then Your image vanished. But I was strong again—rock solid—as I completed the meditation.

For the rest of the retreat, my focus and strength would at times wane, but I stayed for the entire journey, and did a fairly decent job of transcending the resistance. The experience turned out to be incredibly profound. I have found a stillness inside, which I had never before accessed, and I’ve been in a really strong, centered, and detached-yet-loving space in the days since. I want You to know how much You helped me access this divine center, and how much I appreciate all You do for all of us.

Thank You for being there when I needed You most, and for reminding me that I only need ask.

So looking forwarding to seeing You in a few weeks, here in Las Vegas. Zimmaron mentioned that You are planning to see the show “Le Reve.” I would love to buy Your ticket as a tiny reflection of my thanks. You’ll love “Le Reve.” It’s really enchanting.

Pranananda Enters 40-Day Fast

On February 9th, Louix entered what was originally planned to be a 13-day fast, in honor of the upcoming Divine Romance Day and ceremony He would lead on February 13th, as well as in preparation for our Shivaratri ceremonies here at Prema Drala, in addition to His other personal and private reasons, known only to the Master. As always, whenever a Master enters a period of fasting, there are great blessings to be had by all disciples and devotees, as well as by the world at large. On this particular occasion, many of the disciples at Prema Drala joined Him for several days during the first week of His fast.

Unbeknown to us all was the Master’s imminent revelation (before completing the 13 days) that He would continue this fast for a full 40 days and 40 nights, twice the duration of the longest Louix has ever undertaken. A fast of this length is a most rare and auspicious event. It is for this reason that we wish to inform others, that they may unite with Him in consciousness at this time, to more deeply and profoundly avail themselves of the blessings that are available by way of this sacred event. Louix’s fast shall complete at 1:00 p.m. on March 21st, 2010, also the day of the Spring Equinox. Many have already spoken that they plan to again join Him in fasting for the last several days or for the last week of His fast, to again accelerate their own cleansings, and for the powerful, synergistic transformation they will derive by so doing. If you choose to be one of this cadre of souls, as always, “Listen to your body. Obey its requests. And, if you are not accustomed to fasting, please—by all means—do so with proper mentoring and guidance.”

May we all celebrate in the Oneness of His love. Thank You, Guruji, for doing this for us all. We are so blessed. We are so grateful.

Recent Events

Las Vegas Events – November 2009 and February 2010

On November 14th, Louix Dor Dempriey gave darshan to 85 people at a private home in Las Vegas. Louix entered the transcendental state of consciousness known as Samadhi, and, for the next three hours He gazed deeply into each person's eyes as He anointed them, at times delivering guidance and Revelation to some. Two days later, on November 16th, many people who had attended the Darshan, along with a new group of curious aspirants, arrived at the Sun City MacDonald Ranch (nestled on the city's southeastern outskirts) to experience yet another intimate “Evening with Louix.” He answered questions from the audience regarding spiritual concepts, lovingly guiding many through challenging life circumstances, and offering Divine pearls of wisdom.

In mid-February, Louix returned to be with His beloveds in Las Vegas for two more bliss-filled events, held once again at the beautiful Sun City MacDonald Ranch. On February 20th, He gave darshan to over 70 people, and two days later He led a silent meditation. Then, while still in a very God-intoxicated state, He traveled the room and anointed each person with vibhuti. After He returned to His chair, He answered various questions from the audience, delivering many priceless discourses to those in attendance. We offer our heartfelt gratitude to the spiritual community of Las Vegas for their wonderful welcome, service, and commitment to helping us share Louix's love and teachings with the world.

Louix's Visit to Australia – December 2009/January 2010

On December 8th, the disciples at Prema Drala Ashram bid farewell to Guruji as He departed for His month-long sojourn in Australia. His disciples and devotees from Sundara Aravinda Ashram welcomed the arrival of their beloved Guru in Melbourne, Australia. His daughter Ariel Ganesha also came to Melbourne, arriving one week later. His itinerary spanned four weeks, and included the following events: Devotional Singing, Community Dinners, Movie Nights, a Pranayama, Disciple Training, Guided Meditations, a Q&A Session, Private Audiences, Media Interviews, and a four-day New Year's Eve retreat in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. Guruji also shared meals with, and gave personal discourses and guidance to His disciples and devotees. Louix would often enter samadhi, and many people would be effortlessly transformed by the all-consuming love felt in His presence—a feast for the heart and soul!

On December 17th, Louix's birthday, He held a public darshan at the BMW Edge at Federation Square, an ultra-contemporary glass amphitheatre overlooking the Yarra River in downtown Melbourne. The auspiciousness of this day was evidenced by the blessing of a (desperately needed) heavy rainfall. Over 100 people flowed in to receive Louix's blessing, while Kirtan group Sushumna played the most enchanting devotional music throughout the event. Something very unique to this event—held in the central business district of a bustling metropolis—was that many in attendance had never been in the presence of a spiritual Master. This added a very touching and inspirational element to the evening.

On December 29th, 74 souls arrived at the Country Place at Kalorama, to take part part in Louix's bi-annual New Year's Eve residential retreat. Over the next four days, participants basked in Louix's constant emanation of unconditional love. They partook in meditations, yoga sessions, and devotional singing, enjoyed sumptuous vegan feasts, and received guidance from Louix on many subjects. One special evening included a performance of meditative Tibetan bowl playing from special guest Garth Stone. Far more than ever before were great numbers of people having profound kundalini awakenings and experiencing shakti coursing through their bodies, merely by Louix's glance or touch.

Over 40 disciples and devotees gathered on January 4th for Louix's farewell dinner. This was followed by devotional singing, during which they expressed their love and gratitude to Guruji for the amazing past four weeks. Guruji hugged and thanked everyone and invited them to the 2010 New Year's Retreat which will be held in the United States. He beckoned all to go and spread the love and blessings they had received.

Louix proclaims 2010 as The Year of Adoration

On New Year's Eve, Louix celebrated His annual tradition of gathering with His beloveds to ring in the New Year and deliver His benediction for the upcoming year. He proclaimed 2010 as The Year of Adoration—the year to truly enter The Divine Romance (our love affair with God) like never before. As part of His guidance as to how each of us can deepen our relationship with The Beloved, He highly recommends that we recite The Everlasting Covenant as often as possible. He also recommends reading the book Miracle of Love (by Ram Dass) to vicariously experience the sublime devotion and adoration of which He speaks, and to see the all-transforming power of that love. Louix Returns to Prema Drala Ashram – January 2010

On January 9th, in honor of Guruji’s return from Australia, the ashram held an intimate evening of Devotional Singing (with Louix as lead singer—a rare occurrence thus far at Pranam’s public events). Pranam led the music, playing favorites as well as some new songs. The evening concluded with some beautiful toning and “Oms” led by Pranananda, which left everyone in the most exalted vibration of love.

On January 23rd, a public darshan was held at Prema Drala and approximately 65 people attended. Pranam serenaded the room with devotional songs as Guruji blessed and anointed each person who came before Him. Many new faces joined us for this bliss-filled event.

On February 12th, we celebrated the holy day of Shivaratri. The disciples held a puja to our Guru (who was physically present) and sang devotional songs to Lord Shiva.

On February 13th, in honor of The Divine Romance—the day wherein we re-consecrate and recommit our lives to The Beloved of our souls, our Creator—Louix led a ceremony at Prema Drala Ashram that was open to the public. It began with a meditation which held the theme of God adoring us at the moment of our creation. He ended the meditation by having everyone recite The Everlasting Covenant, and we completed the ceremony by singing "Hosannah."

A Gray Whale Sends Louix White Roses

I recently joined My Guru, Pranananda, and several of His disciples on a whale watching excursion off the coast of Dana Point, California. At first, I was fairly hesitant to go, as I was concerned about rough seas and motion sickness. Pranananda said I didn’t need to worry; so, when Saturday came around, I was very excited about the prospect of seeing whales that day. I had never gone whale watching before, nor seen them in the wild.

We sailed out from Dana Point Harbor in a small catamaran dedicated specifically to viewing dolphins and whales. The ocean was truly as calm as a lake—which is a miracle in itself (as we were about three miles out to sea), and something Pranananda said He had never once seen or experienced, to this degree, in all His 24 years living in Southern California. After we were cruising for a while, Pranananda turned to me and said, “Is this okay for you?” I laughed, and thanked Him for the calm seas. He invited me to join Him at the bow of the boat, where we stood on a thick net which was about two feet above the water, which we could see right below our often-splashed feet.

Before long, we saw a pod of dolphins feeding up ahead of us. They were jumping out of the water and birds were dive-bombing the fish in a feeding frenzy. The captain steered the boat towards the pod, but before we got too close, some of the dolphin (unbeknownst to us) had left the pod and traveled a couple of hundred yards to our boat and suddenly surfaced—directly beneath Pranananda’s and my feet. What with the netting we were standing on, less than three feet over the water, it felt and looked like we were riding the dolphins! The pair remained there for a minute or so, then moved ahead, beyond the bow, so that we were leaning over the railing, reaching our hands for them, as they kept lifting their heads up and out of the water just beyond our reach. It was amazing to be that close to these beautiful creatures, which were clearly engaging with us on a very personal level.

Soon thereafter, we saw the first whale’s “footprint,” a circular slick which interrupts or overrides the movement of the sea, maintaining a flattened, waveless appearance. This indicates where a whale has just submerged after having surfaced, and it remains for sometimes up to a minute. The boat then traveled in the direction of the footprint, and within 3-4 minutes, she surfaced again… such a beautiful gray whale, about 30 feet long, with spots and barnacles on her back. We followed her for a while, enjoying three or four series of her ascents, each time just arching through the surface, only enough for us to see her dorsal fin and a small portion of her back on either side of it.

The captain started telling us that she was only a gray whale, that gray whales are very shy with people, and that she probably wouldn’t give us much of a show—that she probably wouldn’t even fluke her tail. “They are very homely whales” he said, “really the only unattractive whale species of all the many kinds of whales,” putting her down. Pranananda exclaimed (to us), “Oh, no, don’t speak about her that way!” He and I were practically in tears, so overwhelmed were we by her love, her beauty, and her majesty. He then called out to her, “Don’t listen to him. He knows not what he is saying. We love you. You are very beautiful. And we know you will show yourself to us.” And would you believe—within thirty seconds of His saying that—about a dozen perfect, long-stemmed, white roses appeared in the water on our side of the boat, drifting by us one at a time, sometimes two. They were huge and absolutely perfect white roses, having no sun, cold, or water damage whatsoever, and appearing as though they were just taken out of the refrigerator of a florist shop. As soon as the last rose passed Pranananda, up she came: the closest she had yet surfaced to us, and she fluked her tail right at us, something she had not yet done (and did not do again for the rest of our cruise). He told me that the whale telepathically thanked Him for His love and His kind words, saying that she had sent Him roses as a “Thank You” for defending her honor.

We followed her for about an hour, all told, enjoying her show. All the while we cruised along, Pranananda was communing with her and telling me where she was, where she would surface—and when!—as He could feel her depth and movement in the ocean, as measured (to scale) from His base chakra to His throat.

Wow! Was I ever overwhelmed by the experience. It was so beautiful. I was crying then… as I am now, as I remember.

Angels in Laguna

I got back from Laguna after six days of being at the ashram, feeling amazing and light and full of energy. They were incredible days; the energy there is amazing! The weather was beautiful! At the Darshan this time I got to experience the "Heart Opening," which was intense energy flowing through my body, heart pounding, outside—induced pranic breathing (almost hyperventilating), and then extreme sobbing. I was taken to Pranananda. He held me close and tight and told me that our past life together ended tragically, and that was the reason I was so resistant, but also why I felt I knew him and was so drawn to him. So he erased the cellular memory from my body (of the pain from that past life), and I fell to the floor afterwards in a fetal position and sobbed for a long time in Zim's lap. Pranananda later told me, in our audience the next day, that it was like an internal implosion. It really felt like that. It was incredible! After that, I was blissful.

I was granted a private audience with him at the last minute on Sunday morning, along with my friend Donna, and I had just fifteen minutes to get ready. It was amazing to sit in front of this man and listen to him and talk with him about everything. I got the whole thing on CD, thanks to Markus, who said, “That way you won’t forget what he tells you.” Donna and I listened to both of our recordings together on the way home. It was enlightening to listen to each other’s experiences..

I was talking Sunday night with the disciples about angels, and I said I was fascinated by them but didn’t believe in them. They said, "Have you ever asked to see them?” I said "No." So, that night I did ask. Well, the next day (Monday night), I walked out to watch the sunset and, lo and behold, the clouds that formed in front of me manifested as angels. I was smart enough to take my camera, and now I have proof that they exist and showed themselves in a way that wouldn’t frighten me. I showed the photos to Pranananda and he exclaimed: Wow! He was exuberant about the photos, and so were the disciples. Zim said they showed up in legions for me!

So this trip was amazing! All the disciples were wonderful and supportive. The vegan food was awesome, and I didn’t sleep as long as I usually do. I was also up early every morning with all kinds of energy. The energy and vibe at the ashram was like nothing I can explain. I felt at "Home" with these people, and I love them and Pranananda so much. I truly believe that Pranananda is my Guru. What amazing things I felt and was shown in his Divine presence… and his love is beautiful.

What are all these circles appearing in the photo?

Q: Here is a photo that was taken recently at our wedding. Could You tell me what are all those circles appearing in the photo?

A: The strange phenomena all around you in your wedding photos are spirits which were captured on film. Whenever “spirit” is captured on film, it is commonly known as ectoplasm, living (or divine) energy which may or may not be holding—at least, visibly—a physical form as matter. This particular type of phenomenon appearing in your photo is known as an orb.

They are, essentially, beings; in your case, some of the many, many angels who not only walk with you on a daily basis, but who were/are in great celebration on this momentous day (who doesn’t like weddings and parties?). Orbs do not exclusively represent angels, nor were there only angels present at your wedding. Deceased family members, nature spirits, other astral beings, extraterrestrials, et. al. are around all of us all the time. Rest assured, the ones appearing in your photo are all very loving in nature, and very happy!

You can do an Internet search, under “orbs,” and see lots of photos of them. We have many pictures of orbs in our ashram photo archives. They are captured quite often on film here. There was one very auspicious thing about yours, however. I have never seen such intricate patterning, as is evidenced in your photo, within the large orb on the left. Very nice.

A Divine Confirmation

I had gone down to visit Prana Shakti, our ashram just outside of Hobart, Tasmania, to spend time with My disciples there. I had known that their dog, Henry, was old and ailing, to say the least. When I got there, what I saw upon walking in the door just had Me in utter horror: Henry was so completely and totally emaciated. I instantly saw that he wasn’t even a dog anymore. This dog was fully in his light-body and had essentially died about a year-and-a-half ago. My heart hurt so much that I almost fell to the ground upon seeing him. The people's attachment, desperation, and anguish were keeping this dog alive, against his will and even against the laws of nature. Henry appeared as a skeleton that looked like it was spray-painted with hair. He could barely stand, walk, eat, or move. He was barely breathing, and his chi was at about three or four percent. Henry was here "but for the grace of God"—just for them—because they refused to let him go.

Peter’s beloved, Marianne, had passed on less than a year prior, and she was very close to Henry. Henry was the light of her life. So, everybody at the ashram felt that, by keeping the dog alive, they were vicariously keeping Marianne alive and thereby keeping the last thread (in their minds) of attachment to their earthly life with Marianne.

On the story went… until I got there. I knew, upon walking in, that the first thing I had to do was to cut their cords of attachment and fear, and help this dog to move on. So, I sat down with Henry and had a little private ceremony, just him and Me. I whispered to him and said, “Don’t worry, I will take care of this.” He thanked Me and begged Me to help, saying, "Thank You so much. They just won’t let me go… they won’t let me go."

I waited for the opportune moment, gathered everybody in the community together, and we all sat in the room around Henry. He had a special pillow in front of the fireplace, which was his spot. Now, for these last two years, he almost never got up from there. At first, upon sharing what I am saying now and what I was about to say to them, there was an unspoken level of disagreement (for various reasons): thinking I was either exaggerating, or making more of it than it was, or that what I was saying simply wasn’t so. From their point of view, the dog was still walking, eating, and functioning, but they had blinded themselves. Their attachments, their pain, and their fear had blinded them to even see the truth. Coupled with that, Henry was putting on a facade for them, using every ounce of strength he had to hide the sheer agony that he was in all the time—an agony to which I, as the story goes on, was witness.

Before we had this gathering, there was a moment when everybody was out of the house, and I was there by myself, alone with Henry. At one point, Henry slowly started to get up to go outside. There was a little landing outside the back door and it was only one small step higher than ground level. It wasn’t even a step like one on a staircase; it was just a slab of cement. It only rose about four inches, maybe five, but much less than the height of a standard step. The dog stood on top of that tiny landing, staring off the side of it, like he was looking off the edge of the Grand Canyon, some 2,000-3,000 feet below him; as though he would plummet to his death if he were to step these couple of inches off the cement onto the earth… not to mention how he could even do it, since he clearly had almost no command or power over his legs—something nobody here seemed to notice, and something Henry had successfully hidden from them all (out of his love for them) and which I alone was now privy to see.

I sat quietly. I didn’t move a muscle. I blocked Henry from feeling my energy or knowing that I was watching him, so that he wouldn't know anyone was watching. I saw this dog stand there for almost a minute before he summoned the courage to take that one step off the landing, so that he could walk on the earth. When he finally did, his legs wobbled, his whole body shook, and he was filled with fear. He looked as though his legs would crumble and his bones would break beneath the weight of his beyond-frail body.

He hobbled about ten feet to a spot where he could hopefully lie down on the grass in the shade. Every time he tried to bend his legs, he would wince in pain, bearing facial expressions just like a person in extreme pain would do. The side of his mouth pulled to the side, stretched, and his eye wrinkled and stretched on the side. With every attempt, he would barely bend his legs an inch and try to lower his bottom, in an attempt to sit down—something all dogs instinctively do all their lives—but he couldn’t. He tried to lower his torso but couldn’t. He then began to walk slowly in circles, falsely believing (and yet hoping all the same) that if he went around and around enough times, he would wind up in a lying position without ever actually having to bend his legs. When he finally reached the ground, he winced again and just sat there. The whole drama took him several minutes: to walk fifteen feet from the fireplace to the back door, and then another ten feet out onto the grass and lie down. This was something that, in his heyday, would have taken him less than thirty seconds, but it now took minutes… because nobody was around, so he didn’t have to hide. He never let them see his true level of pain because he knew they didn’t want to let him go. Seeing this really wrenched my heart even more—the violation that was going on here.

As I was saying, I gathered everybody together. Henry was back on his mat, in front of the fireplace. We all sat in a semi-circle around him, and then I started by saying, “This dog died a year and a half ago. He is in his light-body. He is only breathing because you folks won’t let him go. You have got to let this dog go.” I had My hands on Henry most of the time I spoke. I was simultaneously and telepathically speaking with him, and it was just so beautiful. Little by little, one by one, the beloveds in the room were surrendering. People started crying and saying, “Oh, I felt that all along and I knew.” (Only yesterday, when I first arrived, they were saying, “He is fine, he is doing much better,” when I asked them how they felt about the dog.) Today was the Day of Reckoning, and now it was My turn to take a stand for this poor dog. “Folks, wake up! This dog died a year and a half ago.” I shared with them what I witnessed when no one was in the house, about how this dog could barely stand, walk, or even sit down. I revealed to everyone how Henry had been using all the love and the strength he could muster, calling God’s help (no doubt) to hide it from them because he knew they wouldn’t let him go.

By now, everybody was crying, apologizing to Me, and apologizing to Henry, saying, “Oh, I knew. Why did I do this?” Next, I had them each come up to the dog, one by one, to apologize, tell him how much they loved him, and give him permission to leave this world. The whole ceremony took about an hour. In the end, Henry, our beautiful ashram dog, was finally at peace and thanked Me with all his heart. I was sitting next to him throughout the whole rite of passage, with the semi-circle of beloveds formed around us.

I was speaking to the group about Henry's ties with Marianne, his need to go, and his wanting to move on. "This is what really serves him best and, really, what will connect everyone to Marianne’s spirit far more than torturing a dog that wants and needs to die." While I was talking, I happened to turn my head and notice today's local newspaper on the floor behind Peter (Henry's owner). On the cover was a full-page color photo of a middle-aged woman—similar to Marianne—with her dog, a dog just like Henry. The title of the cover story on the newspaper—where they live, on that same day I was there for this whole event—read something like: “Saved at Last—a Woman Reunited with Her Dog.” (Interesting that the paper, which had been sitting, face up, right in front of everyone, was only noticed once everyone had gone through the healing and had agreed to go through with the euthanasia and finally let Henry go.) So there, on this newspaper, is the woman (symbolic of Marianne) hugging her dog, with this big, beaming smile on her face. I picked up the article and said, “What do you think of this? How auspicious is this! On today’s paper, on the day I am giving you this talk, Marianne will be reunited with Henry.” Everyone burst into tears, crying with happiness and joy at the synchronicity.

When all was said and done, Peter’s daughter, Monique, quietly reached into her pocket, pulled out her cell phone, and innocuously took a picture to capture this moment for posterity—-not thinking anything… just a little, quickie, low-grade photo on a cell phone. Then she said, “Oh my God. Pranananda, You need to see this.” She turned to show Me, and there was a picture of Henry with these two colored floodlights for eyes! His dog eyes were gone: one was pure gold and other emerald green, the color of the heart chakra… just pure light. There he was, in his light-body—just as the Master had told them—happy as a clam, and ready to go.

We made an appointment with the vet to come and euthanize Henry the next day (her first available appointment). We were going to hold the cremation right here at the ashram. We were going to build a giant funeral pyre (for which we obtained a fire permit from the county) and cremate the body right on the same property where he spent the final years of his life. It was all so beautiful.

Everybody got to witness, first-hand, the power, the presence, the grace, and the divine orchestration of the Creator, in its glory and in its fullness. The lesson here is that we just need to get out of the way, and let Nature flow according to its own perfect order and timing and place. With God, all things are possible.

Thank you, Henry, for gifting us all such a wonderful, heart-opening, and transformational experience… but, mostly, thank you for giving us the joy and the privilege of sharing so many precious years with you. You truly will live in our hearts forever.

Recent Events at Prema Drala Ashram

On August 21st, Pranam, Prema Drala’s devotional music group, played their first official public event at the grand opening of Lotus 7 yoga studio in Rancho Santa Margarita, playing in the background during their “happy hour” yoga. On August 23rd, Pranam had their first public “Evening of Devotional Chanting” at Yoga Shakti Studio of Irvine. The event fell on the auspicious day of Ganesha Chaturthi, and, as such, Lord Ganesha was honored with special prayers and chanting as the main part of the event. Pranam also held two “Evenings of Devotional Chanting” at Unity Church of Tustin on September 9th and 16th. These were their first shows at the church, and many of its members loved the show and were eager for future events with the band!

A public darshan was held at 25742 La Serra on September 19th—the first public event to be held at Prema Drala's newest ashram home, located in Laguna Hills, California. Approximately sixty people attended, with some guests traveling from as far away as Joshua Tree, California. Pranam played live music for the event, and many people basked in the beautiful energy in the room, receiving blessings and healings.

A team of disciples from Prema Drala Ashram attended the first Bhaktifest from September 9 – 11th, held at Joshua Tree National Park. They ran a product and information booth for the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation at the event, which drew an estimated two thousand people! Bhaktifest was centered around yoga and kirtan, featuring live performances from over forty kirtan groups, including Dave Stringer, Jai Uttal, and Donna De Lory.

On September 22nd, Pranananda led a public Equinox Meditation in which He helped us to align our energies with the new season—amplifying their impact on our lives and encouraging us to be in harmony with the ebb and flow of the seasons. He spoke of expressing our gratefulness for the Fall’s harvest, both the bitter and the sweet.

On October 10th, we held “An Evening with Louix” at Prema Drala Ashram. He opened the event with a guided meditation to cleanse the chakras and invoke Divine Light into our bodies, and then gave a discourse on the nature of Enlightenment, a topic which is widely misunderstood these days. After the discourse, He answered various questions from the audience, delivering pearls of wisdom and using His own stories to illustrate the very same.

On October 17th, several disciples participated in the annual “Walk for Hope” charity event. The event is a five-kilometer walk decorated with inspiring handmade quotes. The purpose of the event is to spread more love in the world and to raise money for the charity of the participants’ choice. The Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation raised money for Love Without Boundaries, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of orphans and impoverished children in China.

Louix's Visit to New York City, October 2009

On October 21st, Louix Dor Dempriey and several disciples from Prema Drala Ashram arrived in New York City and received a heartfelt welcome from their New York spiritual family. The next five days proved to be a transformational experience of unconditional love for all those who had the blessing of being in His presence. Louix's Birthday Celebrations

Each year, disciples and devotees around the world hold a three-day celebration as an expression of our gratitude for His presence in our lives and on this planet, and to attune to the Divine energies that are available to all on this hallowed day.

Each year, Louix spends His birthday with His beloveds in a different part of the world. This year, Louix will attend His birthday celebrations at Sundara Aravinda Ashram, in Melbourne, Australia. This past April (2009), during a three-day men’s vision quest which I led in the most remote part of this vast wilderness, I took camera in hand to capture the surreal beauty which spontaneously rises out of this scorched earth for a few short weeks each year. In this intimate interview, Zimmaron Zsido recounts the fascinating story of how his Guru led him through an immense healing and rite of passage, wherein he broke through the veils of Separation and wound up in a fully God-merged state (known as Samadhi). The Importance of Truth and Self-Discipline

Dear Pranananda,

Having recently spent a few days with my parents has brought up a lot for me, and I am feeling a tremendous amount of pain and sadness. I allowed myself to be consumed by my Mum’s thoughts about how I should be living my life—she, being the voice of my ego, and me, just wanting to run away from everything and have all the things that “I want” and not what God wants for me.

It feels like my family have all split off and gone in separate directions. I am so scared and so hurt that my family has become this way. My Mum’s sister is not even speaking to my parents anymore, and she didn’t want to come and see me while I was there. I see my Mum and her avoidance of the truth and the pain it causes her. I see her husband just allowing her to manipulate and control him. I worry about them so much, I worry about their marriage, and I see and hear his confusion and pain of denying that part of himself that so desperately wants to be with God. Mum just puts a lid on it all; she won’t even allow him to display Your photo in the house.

I feel completely heart broken, and I feel myself wanting to be there for them to protect them and reach out to them. I miss them so much. I feel somewhat desperate and distressed because I just don’t know how or if I can get through this one; it just feels so big.

I feel really bad writing to You time after time, talking of all this sadness, because in my heart I trust You and I know I am in the right place. My mind just feels a bit crazy at times and I feel clouded over with emotions, and it makes me feel so far away from God.

I just miss my parents so much, and I worry about them all the time. I feel very resistant to the situation that we are in as a family, and at this time do not feel the blessing it is gifting me. I am overwhelmed and do not know what to do.

Thank You for listening to my cry and holding me up when I feel I cannot go on.

(Pranananda’s reply):

My beloved,

Thank you for your letter. As for your perceived “plight” regarding your parents, it is important to remember that it is not your job to “fix” them. They are big boys and girls; and their problems existed long, long before they ever met Me. It has been through the Master’s grace that their problems have now been illuminated and exposed for them to finally heal them. Please remember: All of what they are experiencing was going to happen anyway, had they never met Me.

The Guru illuminates and accelerates the (inevitable) destiny of every soul.

Your mother and aunt have been battling with mental and emotional illness since years before you were even born, and none of it has anything to do with you (aside from your having great compassion and caring for them, all of which is both beautiful and proper). Their problems and sadness came from their childhoods. And now they are forced—thank God—to have to face what they have avoided all their lives.

By exiling the Guru from their lives (Gu-ru = one who leads others out of darkness), they have pushed away the help which they prayed long and hard for God to send to them, and left themselves with a now-larger version of the problem. This is tantamount to going in for a triple by-pass, open-heart surgery after suffering with a life-threatening condition for years, and then jumping off the table in the middle of the surgery—running down the street, screaming, with tubes, pipes, and human entrails dragging behind.

I was, and still am, in the middle of performing this restorative heart surgery (except without a scalpel, drugs, or scars) on your parents and on all who have called out to Me in pain. Some choose to courageously stay on the operating table, despite their fears; and others choose to play out the cowardly and more painful scenario depicted above. I, however, do not have that option. My surgery continues, regardless of the patients’ choices. Thus, I am working with whatever My beloveds bring to the (operating) table.

Your Mum’s husband has been battling with his fear, and lack of courage and personal conviction all of his life, ever since he was a child and his parents (wittingly and/or unwittingly) saw to removing every shred of it from his being. He now has the perfect recipe—at his request (a very important factor for you to remember!)—for reclaiming that crucial part of himself. Without it, he is relegated to continue living as a shell of a man.

He took his Guru’s picture down (not your mother) because he has placed his wife before God, and this is why he walks in this world with such an all-pervading sadness in his face and aura (recall the First Commandment, delivered by Moses when he came down from Mt. Sinai: “I am the Lord, your God. Place no false gods before Me.”) Eventually, your Dad will put God first, and neither his wife nor anyone is going to stop him. He has not betrayed Me, only himself.

Your role is to love your parents, not fix them. And you are in the best geographical and spiritual location to learn how to better do that, while protecting yourself from their same fate. Be happy for them, and be happy for yourself. I am taking care of all of you. Trust. Your living and training where you are IS the best help you could ever give them, and it is sourcing them more than you will ever know.

I am also sending (to live with you) one of your dearest angel friends in the Cosmos, to source a kindred soul. You two have much in common, and you will be a great support for one another. This will bring you both great joy.

As you can see, all is in order. All is in perfection. And it just may be that your parents will separate. Your Mum’s husband is too hooked into what I call “God or Bust” consciousness. He has seen too much; he knows too much of what is available and of what is calling him. He has come too far to turn his back and walk away. How fortunate for him. It is now only a matter of time. He is like a spaceship which has entered the gravitational field (and pull) of the Sun.

This same fate will happen to every soul at some point in a given lifetime—your Mum, too. It doesn’t matter when it happens. It happens when it is time. None are “better” or further “ahead” because it has happened to them. It means nothing in and of itself. It is just an “Is-ness.” And right now, your Mum is pretty adamant about not wanting help, as well as about trying to quell her husband’s hunger for God-realization and freedom from the madness and suffering, the latter of which is ultimately fueling his fire and passion for God even more (though neither of them knows that) and will only serve to further accelerate the inevitable—even in My physical absence.

…So, you see, it was never about Me. Blaming others is only another excuse people give themselves to continue avoiding facing themselves and their own pain.

The Guru is the cure to your problems,
not the cause of them.

What you really need to do is to keep re-reading this letter and all those gushing-from-the-heart letters you have sent Me in the past; the ones devoid of your current lapse into madness and fear. Please… use this letter and those others as your Bible!! Read them over and over and over, and especially when you go into the “crazy” place—especially then! Furthermore, I highly suggest that you immerse yourself in My teachings: lose yourself in our website—audio discourses, written ones, photos; listen to our various products, discourses, and tapes of retreats… over and over and over. And, very importantly, transcribe some of those same tapes, which are your own training into self-mastery. By doing so, you will be receiving not only My wisdom and love, but My very darshan (vibration) in more ways than you could from any other means, short of being in My physical presence. Transcribing IS the fast track for those who do not live with Me. Finally, stop indulging your mind. Shut it off. It often gets in the way, more than it helps.

Lend credence to the illusion
and you become the illusion.

I can help you; I can source you; I can guide you… but I cannot do it for you. You must discipline yourself to stay focused on the truth, and you must be obedient to Divine guidance in order to uplift and transform your life. How many people do you know who pay a fortune to go see the best doctor in the world to treat their condition, after suffering long and searching everywhere for help, then receive the diagnosis and subsequent prescription, then go home and throw it away and later tell all their friends he was a lousy doctor (just because the condition or ailment still haunts and troubles them)? Answer: None. By the same token, how many do the very same when it comes to following the advice (i.e. taking the prescription) that their Guru—the Doctor of all doctors—gives them? Answer: 90%.

You, My beloved, have now finally and very masterfully succeeded in surrounding yourself with ones who are strong in their faith, in their devotion, and in their loyalty. Talk to them! During My own training, I had to cut Myself off from My parents and siblings for close to two years. It was far too difficult to do what I had to do while enduring (what I then perceived as) their lack of support. Yes, I felt some guilt, too; but I knew the Truth, and I was not willing to betray that!

Please do not expect Me to keep writing this same letter to you, again and again, every time you choose to pretend you have seen and learned nothing. Discipline yourself. Make a file of all our correspondence, yours and Mine, and read it next time you choose to go “belly up.” Reach out for help from those who are right next to you! You may write to Me anytime you wish. I will read all your letters, and I love them. I simply will not keep writing this same message to you if you are unwilling to help yourself. IF YOU FOLLOW MY GUIDANCE, I WILL LEAD YOU TO THE LAND OF PEACE, FREEDOM, AND FULFILLMENT—like you could never imagine.

My last words are these: You (like so many others) came to Me so that you would not end up, ten or twenty years from now, in the same predicament and circumstances as your parents. Remember that! That is not your plight or your destiny, and you would be letting them down if you give up on yourself, too. Be strong. You can do this, and you will be victorious.

Since Louix's first ashrams opened in Southern California in 1997, devotees and disciples have often used devotional singing and chanting as a spiritual practice to invoke the Divine presence and express their love and adoration for God. His ministry worldwide has always drawn on devotional music from various cultures and traditions as part of its mission of uniting all peoples on Earth as one family in the heart of God. Devotion to the Guru (one's spiritual Master), to Mother/Father God, and to the deities and saints of various religions are all included in this amalgam of sacred homages.

In July 2009, several members of Prema Drala (Louix's Southern California ashram) formed Pranam, the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation's first formal devotional chanting group. Led by Peter DeWitt, these musicians from diverse backgrounds have come together to infuse traditional devotional music with a contemporary feel to create an uplifting musical experience. A Magical Essential Oil Called “Thieves”

I would like to share with the world the magic, wonder, and healing power of a truly amazing essential oil, called “Thieves.” Like some, I was at first turned off by what sounded to Me like a dark or negative name, whereas everything carries an energetic imprint, including names of products. However, once I learned why this oil was given this name, I was able to let go of any concerns about the name, recognizing that the distributors were using the oil’s legacy as part of their marketing… all well and good, you might say. The important thing is what this oil can do. Rather than repeat, it is best and easiest for you to simply go to this link (see below) and read for yourself. I have been using this oil for years, and I highly recommend it to become part of everyone’s standard apothecary (medicine bag). Travel with it, too. It will be a lifesaver… in some cases, literally! I also apply Thieves oil to the soles of My feet and to My children’s feet—when we travel, during flu season, when around people who have major colds or infections. It will help keep your kids healthy when their classrooms are full of runny noses and infections, and it does the same for you when your roommates and office workers are sneezing and coughing all around you.

On a side note, clove oil (the main ingredient in Thieves) is one of the best remedies for toothaches, when applied directly onto the gums around the ailing tooth. This oil is quite potent, though, and may be difficult for small children and some adults, so use carefully and sparingly.

Announcing “Enlivened Spirit” Meetup Group

In late May 2009, the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation opened the majority of its events to the public. Soon thereafter, our Public Relations crew launched Enlivened Spirit Meetup Group, an online social networking website that advertises group meetings around the world.

Recent Events at Prema Drala Ashram

On April 12th, the ashram held its Annual Spring Gardens Ceremony and Celebration at the Sanctuary. Pranananda began the event with an opening prayer. This took place as the gardens were in peak bloom. During the prayer ceremony, Pranananda invoked the Nature spirits, celestial beings, and God’s blessing upon all our new endeavors for this year, honoring the season and the energies of Spring, and creating a divine union and synergy with all of heaven and earth to empower and bring forth quantum growth, harmony, beauty, and success in all areas of our lives. After the prayer ceremony, we enjoyed a bountiful brunch in the gardens, followed by several hours of devotional singing and communing with one another. As part of His annual tradition, the Master took camera in hand and personally photographed all the many flowers and plants which He spends much of His time caring for throughout the year.

From April 17th – 19th, the men of Prema Drala Ashram went on a vision quest to Anza-Borrego Desert. They fasted the entire weekend, meditated privately, and took hikes in the desert wilderness, taking in all of its beauty. During the evening they had a fire ceremony and jam session which lasted late into the night. They began the following day with a Mayan sun salutation led by Guruji before their long trek to a mountainside of glacial boulders, where each man picked a secluded cave wherein he would contemplate in silence for the next 10 hours. Pranananda led the men back to the camp in the late afternoon. That evening the silence was broken, and the men recounted their experiences of the day around a crackling fire under the stars.

As part of our Grace in Action service projects, on Earth Day (April 25th) our community joined about 60 people for tree planting at Doheny State Beach, in Dana Point. Whilst replanting the campground and campfire center with an assortment of 20 native Californian trees and shrubs, they were able to make new friends, spend time in nature, and help source the earth—a perfect day!

On April 26th, 22 disciples and guests gathered at the La Serra home for an afternoon Q&A session with Pranananda. Initially He led a guided meditation that opened people’s hearts. Afterwards, Pranananda cleverly gave His enlightened perspective on a range of topics, from healing cancer to twin flames. After the event, many people thanked Pranananda and expressed their gratitude for having heard Divine truth and understanding.

On May 30th, Pranananda’s long-time friend Dr. Gabriel Dery and his wife, Marina, hosted the ashram for an evening of devotional singing at their exquisitely decorated home in San Juan Capistrano. Some songs brought people to their feet and they were dancing with joy; others, such as “Hari Om,” brought in an intense energy, leaving people divinely intoxicated. On July 7th, we celebrated Guru Purnima with an evening of devotional singing at one of the ashram homes.

On August 1st, Louix gave darshan to over 60 people at Prema Drala Ashram. Prema Drala’s own kirtan group, Pranam, played devotional music quietly in the background as each person came before the Master to receive His personal blessing.

Louix’s First Public Event in Las Vegas

A growing community of spiritual seekers in Las Vegas invited Louix to their city for the first time during the second week of July. Kitty Courtney and Sean Brown, who lead several spiritual groups in Las Vegas, graciously hosted Louix and a team from Prema Drala Ashram for a series of events at their home in Henderson. Eighty-five people came to receive Louix’s blessing, which, for many, invoked profound transformation and exalted states of bliss.

Taking the Next Step…

In the first half of 2009, the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation has been creating many new opportunities to share the love and wisdom Louix has already brought to so many. For example, in just the last few months we have established a series of ongoing public events with Louix, such as Darshans, Evening Meditations, Q&A’s, and (our newest program) Teleconference Calls; as well as Satsangs, Community Service, and nights of Devotional Singing.

Since the Foundation’s incorporation in 2007, our dedicated team of volunteers has focused on creating the formal infrastructure for this ministry (which began in 1996). We are happy to announce that these efforts have culminated in the recent submission of our petition for non-profit status! We are now in the final stages of creating the legal framework to officially launch the Foundation and its fundraising efforts. One aspect of this is the design and printing of the Foundation’s first full-color brochure. To accomplish these goals, which will expand the Foundation’s capacity to serve in even more far-reaching ways, we are first reaching out for financial support to those who have been part of our spiritual family over the years, in order to raise the funds necessary to complete this phase of our growth.

The Man in the Mirror

The person we should be thanking for caring and making the world a better place is Michael Jackson. He is the most loving and caring person you would ever know. I know that he might have done some strange things but that is because he had no friends and had no child life, he was always on stage. He liked anyone. It doesn’t matter if you are black or white, he would still like you. I don’t know why people would tease him about his face. His face was fine. You don’t judge someone from what they look like on the outside, you look inside.

Michael had a caring heart. He made the whole world have peace and to understand that we are not different at all. I know that we might look different but we are all human beings that is why Michael came down from God, so he could get people to understand. We should not be fighting, we should be loving to each other. If you listen to the lyrics of his music, it doesn’t matter if you are black or white, heal the world, make it a better place. See, he did his job. He is not really gone. He will be back, you just won’t know it.

A Divine Rescue

This is the story of a narrow escape, one that would not have happened without the divine grace of my Guru, Bhagavan Sri Pranananda. To me this story illustrates that a true Guru is always with you, as well as with everyone whom you encounter. The following event happened at a time in my life where I had lost focus on God and my spiritual practices. This taught me that although I was at the time not interested in following my Guru’s teachings, he was (and always will be) there for me.

This event took place in a large wooden house in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. I was living there with my husband, Gavin, and a girlfriend of mine, Mirela, who needed a place to stay for a while. Mirela and I both worked a few nights a week at a nightclub in the city. It was one of our nights off, and, due to a power failure, we had no electricity for the next twenty-four hours.

Mirela was staying in the bedroom that I had just moved out of, and inside it was a chest of drawers that I had not yet moved. On top of the chest of drawers was a framed photo of Pranananda and some other precious and sentimental items. Mirela advised us that she was going to keep a large candle burning for the night, and she placed it on top of the chest of drawers.

We all retired to bed. I fell into the deep sleep of someone who had not slept well for days and really needed to rest. Gavin was asleep beside me. At some point in the night (about 2 or 3 a.m.), Mirela burst into the room almost hysterically, gasping and saying that her room was on fire. Gavin leapt out of bed and ran down the long corridor to her room. I followed quickly behind him. As soon as I opened the bedroom door, I was confronted by a blanket of toxic black smoke. It had already spread from the rear of the house, all the way to the front (our bedroom was near the front door).

The back room was so thick with smoke that all we could see were the flames from the fallen candle leaping up the thick curtains. We managed to put out the flames, and then we all sat out on the front porch to collect our thoughts.

Our faces were all covered in black soot, Mirela’s was the darkest. She sat quietly for a few moments, then told me that before she went to sleep the previous evening, she had looked at the photo of Pranananda and said “I don’t know who you are, or what you do, but could you please make sure that I don’t burn the house down with this candle?” She had been nervous about leaving it burning, but had decided to keep it lit to have a source of light in an otherwise very dark house. She then took a few strong sleeping tablets (as she regularly did) and, in her own words, “passed out completely.”

Mirela then recounted to Gavin and I how she had been awakened during the night by “a presence” that had told her to wake up. As she told me this, tears began to roll down her face. She turned to us and said, “I know that it was he (Pranananda) who woke me… I just know it was.” This was the first time I had seen her cry.

Mirela used to be impossible to wake up—at the best of times, let alone heavily sedated. She was asthmatic and could not see more than a foot in front of her without her glasses on. On top of that, she had been breathing in thick smoke for quite some time, which usually causes people to perish in their sleep.

She had heard the voice of the Divine, which had awakened her and allowed her to escape the burning room. If she had not done that, we would not have awakened either, and the rest of the house would have burnt down. Our smoke alarms were in the kitchen drawer awaiting new batteries.

I was never sure what the greater miracle was: the events that transpired, or the fact that my street-smart, tough, cynical friend had put aside her natural inclination to disbelieve anything “spiritual” and open her heart to the Grace of my Beloved Guru—an Avatar whom she knew almost nothing about.

Later that day we were examining the damage, and were all astonished (our eyes were fairly popping out of our heads) to see that the photo of Pranananda and my beautiful carved wooden jewelry box that was given to us as a wedding gift were completely untouched by the fire—even though the candle had started the fire right next to them.

A few weeks later the back room had to be completely stripped and refurnished. Thankfully, our landlady’s insurance covered it, with only a small gap that was to be paid by us. I am infinitely grateful to God, and to Pranananda, as the damage could have been far, far greater and much more serious.

As my mind grasped the seemingly impossible facts, my heart opened more and more. I realised that we had been blessed with a second chance that a lot of people never get. I wept as I acknowledged that, even though I had strayed so far down a dark and dubious path (my heart and focus having drifted far away from Pranananda for quite some time), my Guru’s mantle of protection still held me and my loved ones safely within it.

A Tribute to Michael Jackson

I ask Myself why it took Me three weeks (after his passing) to write a tribute to the great soul known to this world as Michael Jackson. The reason is very clear: I have found it difficult to even begin to condense the scope, breadth, expanse, and impact of his life, talent, love, caring, genius, and legacy into any number of words, much less into merely a couple of paragraphs. Tonight, as I sat before My keyboard, composing this eulogy, I began by spending two hours on the Internet, viewing song after song, video after video, tribute after tribute… saturating Myself with his sweet and melodious voice, gazing upon the innocence and beauty of this magical anomaly of a human being, and becoming all the more entranced by his unique and inimitable presence.

The Divine Light which used Michael Jackson as Its muse was, much as in the case of Mozart, was too intense and vast to be harnessed by the limitations of his human embodiment. Obviously knowing this, in His infinite omniscience and grace, God managed to fit Michael Jackson’s entire career and legacy into his short 50 years on Earth, leaving us an archive and treasure trove of music, inspiration, philanthropy, and caring, on a scale rarely if ever seen in this world, not even by ones who outlived him by decades. Perhaps this is why superstardom claimed Michael before the age of 10, allowing him to reach millions with a level of talent, artistry, professionalism, maturity, depth, sensitivity, and soul that usually emerges—in the greatest of talents—in their later years. Clearly, God made accommodations for all of this and more.

Michael was not only the greatest and most innovative contemporary freestyle dancer who ever lived, as well as one of the greatest singers and songwriters, he was also a hero—especially to the children of the world, possibly the greatest in all of recorded history. He was and is the champion of children, and now (through his passing) a modern-day patron saint for their cause, their welfare, their future, and their rightful place as the wayshowers for humanity. Many children (in the 40+ years of Michael’s professional career) are themselves now adults, and they attribute their place in the world, their chosen paths and all success attained therein, to the example set by this angel from heaven, by his fierce and relentless commitment to goodness, individuality, perseverance, and freedom of expression. It is an understatement to say that Michael Jackson will continue to fill this niche for society—and continue to reign as its king—long after the day of his passing has faded from memory.

Though many are heartbroken by your physical departure, Michael, most would agree that you lived a full life, perhaps another testimonial of the vastness of your talent. I thank God for giving humanity the invention of recording equipment—and the media to use it—before sending you into our midst. How fortunate for us all, that you will continue to live in our hearts, igniting and inspiring joy and happiness in our lives with your eternal youthfulness, your spirit of hope for this world, and with your limitless talent and musical gifts. Thank you, Michael, for being My friend, and for being an everlasting friend to this world.

The greatest gift I can give you, in return for all you have given Me, is to even further deepen My commitment to unite all peoples, cultures, races, and religions into one heart, one Love… in God’s most holy name.

Your vision for this world shall be fulfilled, beloved soul. To this end, I dedicate My life.

Later that week, one of these babies fell into the pool in the backyard, but Louix saved it and they became fast friends. Are Drugs a True Path to God?

Q: Spiritual masters tend to come down hard on psychedelics. They say, “You can’t use them as a replacement for God,” or “they are a poor shortcut.” But so many spiritual masters in the West seem to have first come in contact with their calling through psychedelics. Can the average person really experience God by simply meditating for years, or do they need some kind of shamanic initiation, sickness, psychedelic, etc.?

A: There are ones who use psychedelics (and/or other drugs and habits) to numb their pain or to run from life, and there are others who use them in the most sacred ceremonies for personal healing or to experience higher states of consciousness. While the same psychedelic may have been used in both cases, they could not be further apart and cannot even be compared.

Intention is everything. A heart’s pure intention and focus upon God will guide and ultimately unite that one with God, regardless of the steps along the way. More importantly, as we evolve, new practices come to us and old ones fall away. It is best to avoid judging the choices of others and oneself, and rather stay focused on being true to (i.e. following) what you feel and know in your heart.

Yes, by all means the average person can experience God by meditating, as well as by calling out, focusing upon, or insisting upon having an experience of God—and it does not have to take years (though it can for some). Whatever you place your focus most upon, you create. That is simply Law. Ask and you shall receive. You do not necessarily “need” a shamanic initiation, sickness, or psychedelic to have that first experience or to “get the ball rolling,” so to speak, though in many cases there is some form of catalyst that creates the opening, the passion for God, and the momentum in the journey. But that is not really the point. The point is that we are all unique, every soul, just like every snowflake—there are no two alike. As such, our pathways to God are each and all unique. And we each attract and create exactly what our souls want, need, and choose as our vehicle to full God-realization. There is no right or wrong; there is only what is right for you. We each need to follow our heart’s guidance. God is not so much concerned how you come, only that you come.

Q: What of the spiritual traditions on the planet that have traditionally used Psychedelic entheogens? Peyote, Ayahuasca, Iboga, and Mushroom shamans, to name a few. Even the Bhagavad Gita mentions the use of the soma juice, which is frequently thought to have been the earliest psychedelic, perhaps the original ecstasy behind all Hindu cosmology. Surely we can’t discard these ancient practices. What do you make of them as true paths to God?

A: Yes, there is much validity in these ancient and sacred traditions. Over time, different cultures have developed different sacred practices and, with humanity’s increasing homogenization into a global culture, many of these practices are now widely known and available. And, indeed, whenever practiced sacredly and with pure intent, they can be very helpful healing and transformational tools. Altered and higher states of consciousness can be attained by using them, though they can also (and just as easily) be attained without them. Once again, it all comes back to intention. All sincere paths ultimately lead to God.

Try turning the tables. Suppose someone were to bring into an isolated tribal culture a sacred practice which brought about a profound spiritual experience. Naturally, many would opt for using it if they had new and favorable results from doing so… and many might happily augment if not replace their traditional practices with it—even if their culture had been using their own tribal practice for thousands of years—if the new practice brought them an even more positive and powerful experience. That is only common sense. It is not a “right and wrong” issue.

While most are focusing upon (or arguing over) the many “vehicles” to reach God, what is rarely discussed is the end result: the “experience” of God. There are truly so many different levels and types of spiritual or mystical experiences, just as there are many levels of Enlightenment (whereas most people think you just cross the threshold and “you are there; that’s it”). What is important to focus upon is what your goal is. What type of “experience of God” do you want? And how much? And for how long? And how permanent? The truth is that it just keeps getting better. You can never have enough God.

The most important axiom to know is that, as one’s consciousness continues to ascend, merging more and more with God’s own, there are fewer and fewer “external” vehicles and tools—of any culture, tradition, or type—needed to access and maintain that connection and/or experience. That is the long and short of it all.

In His Presence

Our first evening, planned as a devotional singing and welcome meal, was all that and more. The singing was beautiful… so much love and devotion filled the room as each song came to life. Sitting before Guruji, and singing to Him, allowed us all to settle, to centre ourselves, and to open up to His infinite love. A meal prepared by the community was served and thoroughly enjoyed in the garden. After the meal, Guruji wandered into the gathering area to find my beloved Howard, weeping on the floor out of gratitude for seeing his Guru again. Pranananda walked up to him and tenderly placed His foot upon his open hand, which opened his heart even further. I knelt down and touched Pranananda’s other foot and was instantly electrified by the current that came rushing through my body, sending me into ecstatic laughter and joy. As people could hear and feel what was transpiring in the room, they came and took part of the experience. It was not long before most people in the room were in some state of ecstasy, peace, and/or bliss. As we surrendered to this experience, the more the love and light of God poured in and through Guruji, into the room and into each of us. It was a truly miraculous welcoming, and, unbeknownst to us, heralding the theme for the entire visit.

Two nights later we were blessed with an evening of pranayama (a sacred breathing exercise for moving into higher states of consciousness). This evening will forever be known as the “Samadhi Tsunami” due to the tidal waves of love that infused everyone in the room. Guruji worked His magic, tending to each individual, and the collective group. To have a God-realized Being oversee such a powerful healing experience simply took it out into the stratosphere. Lifetimes of emotional blocks and karma are lifted from one’s being through deep trust and surrender to the process, and to God.

It was after the pranic breathing that I had an experience that changed me, and the way that I knew my Guru, forever. We had begun to share our experiences of the pranayama, and I was sitting with my husband at the back of the room. It was funny, because I felt that I had to share my experience, but, to do so, I ought to sit before Guruji. I had no idea why, but I simply followed my instinct. My experience had been one of feeling enormous freedom from a very deep wound that I had let go of. In so doing, I was feeling so much gratitude to Guruji for His assistance in getting me through a very personal issue, and for all that He has done to help my family.

As I knelt at His feet and began telling Him of my gratitude, the tears began falling as my heart opened and the love that I experienced felt like it flooded the entire planet. I cried and cried feeling so much love and so much happiness. I sat back, still feeling my open heart, and I looked up at Guruji. His eyes had changed, and I knew that He had moved into a deep state of samadhi. As our eyes connected, I instantly felt the power and force of the current emanating from His eyes and I began shaking and laughing as it overwhelmed me. I lay back down on the floor, more so because I couldn’t sit up with the force of the laughter. The current became stronger and stronger and the laughing was getting more and more hysterical—it was fantastic! It reached a certain point when all of a sudden I could see, feel, and from some deep recess within me, remember, who this Man was that sat before me.

I could see Guruji walking towards me. His pure, golden aura so large that I couldn’t see the edge of it, and it was almost blinding. It was as though He were made of gold. And as I saw this image, I felt Him, truly felt Him, and the power of God fill me and fill everything in creation. I began to laugh even harder as I witnessed everything that He had ever done for anyone flash through my consciousness like a movie on high speed—all the while, still uncontrollably laughing. I actually had to stop looking directly at Him for I thought that I might literally explode. As the laughing reached the next level (where I almost could not breathe) I pointed (at where I thought He was, because I couldn’t open my eyes from laughing so hard) and called to Him and said, “I know who You are.” I then lost it again as I saw in my mind’s eye how many people thought of Him as simply a man with a beard wearing robes. It was so, so funny to me and I kept on laughing uncontrollably as the reality of what I saw hit me. Louix Dor Dempriey is anything but a man in a robe with a beard. His mission and His life’s purpose is written upon the Heaven’s to reveal Truth as it has never been delivered nor heard before. Many will try to stop Him, but they will not succeed. That is a simple fact, as spoken to me by God.

As the experience began to lessen in intensity, I moved over to Guruji and lay at His feet. I continued receiving bolts of Shakti, only now it was different, soothing, and blissful. The gratitude that I felt was so great, and I kept weeping whenever my thoughts would wander to what I had just experienced. I knew that from this night forward that I would see the world quite differently.

I do not remember how long I lay there, what I do remember is how beautiful and peaceful it was to be at the feet of my Guru. Thank You, Guruji.

A New Perspective

During Pranananda’s visit to Australia, I had many beautiful experiences of God’s love, as well as immense healings, lessons, and blessings. The vibration of love that I experienced and the amount of pain that left my heart by way of His grace was enormous, the effects of which are still coagulating within me, birthing a new experience of myself and of God, which I witness daily as the love redefines me time and time again.

One of the greatest blessings I received was the gift of sharing a home with my Guru during His stay. I live in an ashram. I have chosen a life that sources my journey to the self-love, and the experience of my own divinity—which I have so hungered for. I have chosen God as my life. But how much have I truly allowed myself to feel and experience God’s presence and love in my everyday life? The fact is that I have often made the choice to intellectualize the truth that God is with me. I had been living as though the experience of God was a temporary feeling of peace or bliss, brought on by some form of sacred practice or by being with my Guru. I had indeed limited my experience to a large degree, prior to my Guru’s arrival; yet, with His presence it all came rushing back again. What was most profound and unique about my time with Him was the new perspective which I was now being offered.

There is something to be said about what is opened up in one’s heart in the presence of a Master. As though I had been transported into another realm, this ashram home of mine started to look quite different to my eyes. A romance started to form, and an excitement began to move me. I watched as, suddenly, the roses shone with more luster. The whole garden appeared to stand up tall, as though trying to look its very best. The house emanated a current; a soft, warm vibration that commanded and echoed a peaceful silence, even when the house was filled with activity. I looked more carefully and saw things more fully, as God’s reality began to reveal itself within me. With new eyes I began to see not merely heaven on earth, but heaven in my own home… in the simplest of tasks and on the most "uneventful" of days. By way of His example, I felt a new reverence and respect for the walls which have housed me. For Him, everything is God, everything is sacred. To watch that truth in action is positively enchanting.

I discovered that the smallest action can become a meditation of love, whereby buttering a piece of toast is as much a sacred act as setting up a room for an event. My heart was constantly swelling with love, and I was often close to tears while arranging a vase of flowers or making a bed. I learned, through Him, how everything becomes a prayer and an act of supplication. I experienced a dream-like flow and rhythm to all things.

My Guru illustrated the fullness with which one can live every moment of life in communion with God. When I tap into this knowing, a veil is lifted and I feel God’s presence romancing me, calling to me, wherever I am. I was reminded—by the mere presence of Guruji—that heaven lives within my heart and I can access it in any situation. Pranananda takes heaven wherever He goes…. Why shouldn’t I?

The perspective I gained during Pranananda’s stay in my home is a new understanding of freedom. And this is a Gift among gifts for me, one from which I have continued to learn, long after my Guru boarded His plane for America.

How it Works

Below is a letter I received from one who both knows—and models for others, by way of these wise and profound words: the true nature of the Guru and how He/She works, how and why it is essentially easy to forgive (and the need for it), and what is the underlying truth about all our wounds and rites of passage. These words clearly demonstrate the difference between “intellectually knowing” there is nothing outside of self and that you choose and create everything in your life and “having mastered” (or Self-realized) these truths. While individual circumstances vary from one person to another, the second and third paragraphs are what hold the Great Teaching which applies to everyone and every circumstance: That you chose and created everything in your life for the sole purpose of liberating your soul and realizing God, your indwelling divinity. I offer this gift to you—as one of the most powerful spiritual tools I have ever given you—in the hopes that it will inspire you to walk in mastery, too. Please read this letter every day, until you are living at all times in the consciousness imbued in these words.

One of my issues that came up for me for healing, which came up through my time with You, beloved Guruji, was regarding being with a guy when I was at age 25. This man really tried to do me in… I mean he possibly would have killed me had I not finally become free of him. Everything from physical beatings, verbal assaults, sado-masochistic sex, financial dependence on him, regular humiliations, mind control, satanic practices, isolating me and turning me against my family and friends, sleep deprivation—all of this over a five-month period.

I prayed to God for help and was able to leave my virtual imprisonment, and have been on the road with God in my heart ever since. So I understand that, because of the pain this man inflicted on me, I then was able to turn to God and surrender (then), and that was such a great gift. But I still had (and have) fears about being in a vulnerable position like that. And I realize that there is nothing—absolutely nothing—in Your example, in Your behaviour with me or any others, with Your teachings, with anything that I have ever heard You say or do, that could anyway indicate that You are anything other than Loving. Yet, my fears (again dissolving as I write this) are that my surrender to You might lead to my being harmed in any of these ways.

It is another great lila, dear Guruji: where You are showing me the healing, offering this to me, and I accept it now. These memories… they are not the truth of who I am. They are something to be given to the Light and thanked and blessed for their place in my life at that time. Yes, these events did bring me to God; and, yes, yes, (the truth of what You have spoken about) this man has played a great role in my life by playing the role of hurting me, something that only a truly loving soul could and would do for me. I forgive him. I forgive him. I was scared before—terrified—but now I am free to forgive. I am stronger and wiser, and I can love him.

Lots of tears are flowing now, Guruji. Thank You for this gift. I hope I can continue loving and forgiving. Your grace has triggered this release in me.

7 Years with Beloved Pranananda

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.

Over the 7 years of my life with His Holiness Beloved Pranananda, I have to have great confidence in Pranananda’s ability to work things out. No matter what is going on or how obscured my understanding of a situation is, I believe Pranananda is always working things according to His great sovereign plan.

It is as if there is this giant tapestry that Pranananda is weaving and my life is part of it. I sometimes get caught up with temporal things and the stuff that is happening, but Pranananda reminds me, “Hey, nothing is taking me by surprise. I’m weaving all of these things into this great pattern. Your mistakes the stuff that happens to you, it is all going to turn out alright.”

Has it ever occurred to you that nothing occurs to Pranananda? The thing you are embroiled in right now did not take Pranananda by surprise. He did not look at your situation and say, “Oh no, I didn’t figure on that. Francis do you have any suggestion? What are we going to do?”

I know that sometimes in my microscope view of things I have said, “Lord, such and such has got to happen.” And Pranananda has replied, “Well you don’t have the big picture.” Then as time went on, Pranananda pulled the camera back and I got the wide view, and I realized Pranananda was up to something very cool—totally apart from what I thought had to happen.

Whatever your situation, you can rest assured that Pranananda has plans to work things out. Pranananda is working all things after the counsel of His own will. So relax, Even if your present circumstances have totally taken you by surprise, Pranananda saw it coming and made provision far ahead of time.
