Guy Spiro: I always like to start with people briefly telling their story.

Louix Dor Dempriey: I was born December 17, 1961 and raised in Boston in an Italian American family with two brothers and a sister. On the one hand I had a pretty typical life. I was devoted to study and was a straight A student all through school. But I was always deeply immersed and found my deepest communion with God in nature. I was a bit of a Dr. Doolittle as a child. Wild animals would come up to me and I would touch them or hold them. I was constantly going off into the forest and walking along bogs and swamps and rivers, always catching animals and taking them home. I was completely enraptured in nature.

I had my first personal encounter with Jesus at the age of five when he materialized in my bedroom and talked to me for about fifteen minutes. The two most noteworthy things I remember were, he said there would be two turning points in my life, one at around the age of thirteen and the second around age thirty. The first is going to break your heart because you're going to think it's taking you from me. I can't tell you what it is, but when it happens I want you to know now that it was me who actually precipitated it. That turned out to be my leaving the Catholic Church at age thirteen. Naturally, growing up Roman Catholic, all I knew was Jesus, Mary, Joseph, saints, angels, and God. But I felt compelled to leave the church because of certain basic concepts and the dogma of hell and original sin. Both of which are illusion, completely and totally.

GS: My birth mother's family was hard core Fundamentalist and I sat in church as a little boy and said, wait a minute, everyone in this room is going to heaven and everybody else in the world is going to hell? Come on, that can't be true.

LDD: As young as eight or nine, I was arguing with the priests and they were telling me off. I just kept telling them that a child cannot be born with a black mark on its soul. It came out of the hands of God and into the world. A newborn is purer than any person walking the planet, how can they be the blackest and darkest thing? And the whole thing about having to beg for forgiveness all your life so you can get into heaven just didn't work for me. But I loved church and I was so torn. I would be in church and be so God intoxicated that my mother had to pull me out. I wanted to light all the candles. Weekdays after school, I would go and sit in the church because that was where I felt closest to God, either in the church or out in nature. When I left the church at thirteen, I felt like I was leaving Jesus. But he had told me at five, without telling me what it was, that I needed to remember that it was he who precipitated it.

GS: Did you leave the church to move in a certain direction, or could you just no longer stay in the church?

LDD: I just couldn't partake in it. I would still go and sit in the church, but I couldn't go to masses or listen to the stuff that I knew was completely incorrect, or distorted. The second thing he said in that first experience was about a pivotal turning point at around age thirty. He didn't tell me what would happen, but gave me the general direction. It was my spiritual awakening. My crown chakra opened and I went into Samadhi for a solid week. I didn't eat and could not sleep a wink. I could do faith healings, I could see into people's bodies and I was living and experiencing complete and total omniscience. I could see, hear and know everything from all the realms of creation. People would come and sit with me and ask questions, and that's where that all began. I should also say that I had been counseling since childhood. When I was ten years old, I was made a guidance counselor at my school. By the time I was in high school, I was counseling my teachers. They would tell me about their marriages, their divorces, their sex lives, their personal problems.

GS: I had similar experiences. I was my high school guidance counselor's counselor.

LDD: I was always around the adults. I can't even remember a time when I was with the kids. I'm sure I played some, but I was always with adults. I would sit at the bar or at the table and talk with the adults. This career of counseling and teaching was just with me from birth. It was always there.

When I had my awakening in May of 1990, I started having many divine encounters. I had extraterrestrial encounters of all kinds. I had encounters with celestial beings. I started calling out for help as I didn't really know what was happening to me. I prayed every night. I had never really read any type of mystical or occult book and had not even had a psychic reading. I had no physical plane spiritual teachers up until that point. I would say, Jesus, please send me someone who can tell me what's happening to me, send me a group who can accept me and understand me. I shared a few things with friends and got mocked and ridiculed, so I went quiet.

But the encounters and experiences didn't stop. It was at breakneck speed and happening constantly. After three months of saying this prayer for help, I connected with a teacher. That was when I had the first encounter with other ascended Masters—Jesus, of course, had been with me all my life, but now Mother Mary, and St. Germaine. They spoke to me for about two and a half hours. They inducted me into an ancient mystery school where I trained for four years with over one hundred different Masters. These beings were materializing and would walk right through the walls. It was fascinating and miraculous things were happening.

I had been acting all my life and I pursued my professional career, going to New York. A movie deal brought me to Hollywood and I became a rather successful actor in movies and TV, and I was doing commercials and voiceovers. I had a recurring role on a series on CBS, Eisenhower in Love, that only ran one season, but I was given a contract to be a regular in the second season. My career was booming and that's when the big writers' strike happened. Ninety shows got the axe. The Masters said it was God's deft slight of hand to keep me from getting derailed, which I can see clearly now.

GS: All the guys that I played music with back in the day went on to be professional musicians. But it just wasn't my dharma LDD: I had landed a starring role in the movie Alive, about that rugby team that crashed in the Andes. Three weeks before going on location, they pulled me and gave my role to Ethan Hawke, which made him a star. Then the Masters swept me up and took me off.

GS: I like the concept of alternate universes where we've made different choices. I always wonder what's going on in those universes.

LDD: There are so many dimensions co-existing, it's fascinating.

GS: The question becomes, how do we get localized in this one?

LDD: I always tell people to stay focused on this one. The strange thing is that most people out of innocence or naïveté think there are actual physical locations or that you have to go somewhere. They are all existing at the same time and as you expand from within you have the ability to access and experience them.

GS: It's all simultaneous.

LDD: Parallel realities. Anyway, in the third of these four years of training that led up to my enlightenment, the Masters were all physically materializing around me. Then it really became quite a show. It was spellbinding. My enlightenment happened on March 7, 1996, and then I just had to walk away from the world again, from everything I owned and everyone I knew, and start over. I walked away from my jobs cold turkey and went through an amazing experience. I was on my own and that's when the ministry formally began. People just started coming and the ashram was built and grew and now we have three in Australia with the mother center here in California. There are different study centers around the world. We're moving along. I travel wherever I'm called and go where people wish me to go, and I lead spiritual pilgrimages and have retreats and write a lot. We have teleconferences and videos and spread the love. I give darshan publicly wherever I go. I usually go into Samadhi for personal anointing and blessings and speak different revelations or guidance for people. That's it in a nut shell.

GS: You seem to be an interesting combination of old and new paradigm teachings.

LDD: When people ask me if this is a specific religion, I say no. I say that religions are 5,000–7,000 years old and before that you had truth and love. That's my religion. I use the truth, the piercing dauntless truth and guide people into seeing themselves and into their hearts, where the wellspring of their own divine love can awaken and be restored.

GS: Religions turn out to be political organizations that grow up around spiritual teachings.

LDD: I always say that spirit is that which is, and religions are interpretations of that which is.

GS: On a good day.

LDD: Right, but they all do have their merit. They all came from basic inherent truths. Put all the world's religions in a pot of boiling water and you'll have the same pearls in the bottom. They take on a lot of translation and distortion, interpretation …

GS: Baggage.

LDD: Baggage. When people ask what religion I am, I say I'm whatever religion God is. My religion is love.

GS: There is a paradigm shift in the works. Whatever one may think of astrology, we are very clearly morphing from one age, one paradigm, to another. It's very interesting. I'm always interested in how people are articulating the change. A big part of the new paradigm is that what was once reserved for the few is now available to the many. How would you articulate it?

LDD: As you just said, what was once reserved for the few is now available to the many. That is true. I've heard people describe it as all the mystery schools are now open and the veils are lifted. I wouldn't say that. It's true to a point, but it's more like the veils have shifted. The access is readily available because of the mass awakening on the planet, but the veils have now shifted onto people. You can say now that the door to the temple is wide open, but now you have to unlock the padlock on your heart.

GS: For those with eyes there are no secrets.

LDD: The Universe withholds nothing from anyone but only the purely motivated can see. Water will seek its own level so lesser students will draw lesser teachers. People with impure motives will find impure expressions of their motives.

GS: I often say that people are attracted to the level of teaching that they're ready for. So there is a place for almost all teachings but…

LDD: Vanity over one's spiritual attainment can be a big problem. Attainment puts people at the top of the food chain, and if they use that to reinforce vanity, that makes it worse because now they've lost their accountability and their humility and they think they are untouchable. It's kind of shocking. So my take on the paradigm shift is that it has always been so that every human being, regardless of race, religion, caste, creed, or status has the ability to access ancient truths and mysteries and uplift and exalt and ultimately liberate oneself. But the human species, the collective of it has been asleep and remained in darkness and ignorance. Only a select few had awakened. What's happening now is that the process is still there, it's always been there, but the human race is going through its spiritual awakening, as if entering puberty. The human race is awakening to the greater truth of spirituality and our origin and reason for being. The fact that it's happening cosmically for the species is what's creating this rapid awakening in so many individuals and steering institutions and structures and the foundations of this planet

GS: One of the things I really like about the paradigm shift is that we no longer have to see the physical plane as a bad place. The whole past 2,000 years, more in some cultures than others but pretty much across the board, has been physical plane bad, the higher planes good. The idea that the physical plane is any less holy than any other plane has been nonsense the whole time.

LDD: What's the change?

GS: That we can now live happily in our physical bodies and still transcend in consciousness.

LDD: I don't find that as something new. To me, the people who felt bad, or had that judgment that the physical plane is bad, just live in the absolute depths of separation and fear. One of the hallmarks of the new age movement is "I can't wait to finish my work, so I can go home." I tell folks, you are home, you're not going anywhere.

GS: Right, that hallmark is not really new age, it's old age dressed up as new age.

LDD: I still hear Masters from India talking about that. Liberate yourself so you can leave and go and be in spirit and never have to reincarnate.

GS: Exactly, the whole get off the wheel thing.

LDD: It's a lot of hogwash. There is no better place in the entire cosmos than this planet. Yes, there is illusion and degradation and war and killing and pestilence, but it's paradise, I live in paradise, and I see it everywhere I go.

GS: I tend to see the world as a theme park. I'm on the Guy-Ride and I'm upgrading my ticket every chance I get.

LDD: Right, it's what we make of it. In tandem with the I just want to go home thing, I want to get out of here because the world's a bad place thing, is that delusionary thought what do we do about it? Pointing fingers and blaming won't do it. We need to clean the oceans, we need to clean the rainforest, that all has its place and merit and is all true. But at a higher level, there's only one thing any of us have to do and that's fix ourselves.

GS: Individual illumination.

LDD: There's no single greater gift than the liberation of a soul. It raises the light quotient of the planet more than anything else in the world. The greatest contribution anyone can make is the purification into a holy, loving, kind being.

GS: Very simply light obliterates dark. More light there is, the less dark there can be.

LDD: Love is the most powerful thing there is. It kills all ills, heals all wounds, ends all wars and that's just the way it is. I'd like to steer people's focus to that, but I don't want anyone to take what I'm saying the wrong way. Those other things, all the save the whatever foundations and causes, they are all important and they must happen and they are a part of it. But there's one that stands head and shoulders above them all and that's purifying one's self.

GS: Somebody has the stirrings, they are beginning to wake up, they know that it's time—what kind of process would you recommend?

LDD: It's different for every human being. At the end of every sincere path the beloved awaits. It's the purity of motive and intention that will draw people to what they need. They say when the student is ready, the teacher appears, but it's not just the teacher, it's the teacher in a wider sense. You will draw whatever you need. There are certain fundamentals, like for instance, sitting in some form of meditation. Some people get wigged out by the word, but sitting in the silence and just being in quietude, turning off all the outside and inside stimuli and being in that silence, listen for the still small silent voice. Whatever you call it, spirit guide, master, higher self spirit, or God.

I do teach meditation and sacred breathing techniques which are known as pranayama. I tell people of the importance of being on the earth, even if it's just sitting for ten or fifteen minutes in the grass or under a tree, communing with the earth and with animals and small children, it's the closest thing to God. Next to God realized beings, children are the closest thing to God. It's the closest thing you're going to get, as well as with animals in the wild. Find more and more ways to commune deeper with the divine. Also important is purifying the body. People pollute their bodies with garbage, junk food, dead food, processed food, chemicals, pesticides, and they say, oh it doesn't matter, I am God, I am pure love and God loves me anyway. But that's not the point, I'm talking about how much do you love you? It was never a question that God loves us. But it is a question, how much do you love you.

The body is the temple that houses the soul. They go hand and hand and the more you purify your body, the more you reach higher and higher vibrations. But I'm not a big proponent of compulsion and obsession so when people ask, if I have a glass of wine will I go to hell? No, and that's not the point. I had a glass of sangria the other day at a restaurant. I hadn't had a drink for almost twenty years. I didn't feel guilty and I didn't feel ashamed and I didn't hide it from anyone. The point is that you set a moral structure for your life by which you live and you uphold that to the best of your ability. If you have a momentary digression … whatever you choose in life you want to choose it with one hundred percent of your being, and live outside the realm of guilt and shame, because those are wasted emotions that do nothing but kill your body. If you want to have the glass, have the glass, and be good about it. Enjoy it. But if you're going to be riddled with guilt, that is much more damaging than the glass of wine, let's put it that way.

GS: I think that if you really have your "yes" and your "no," you can pretty much do what you want.

LDD: That's true. But there are still fundamentals to maintaining a healthy and wholesome body. Eat as much organic food as you can because the chemicals that go into mainstream food are just horrifying. I am a huge proponent of raw food because you're getting prana that you don't get from dead food. The more raw food you eat … I personally can eat no less than fifty percent raw and I strive for seventy-five to eighty percent in my diet. I am not one of these people who have to have every single molecule organic. I could do it, but I'm trying to give a teaching that reaches as many people as possible rather than picking the select few. If there are only say, half a million people on the planet who could ever master a one hundred percent raw diet, I'm cutting off my nose to spite my face by saying this is the only way.

GS: If you make it too hard, then you're reserving it for the few again.

LDD: Why not try to reach as many people as possible because the truth is, back to the paradigm shift, we're all headed in the right direction anyway.

GS: It's funny, there are so many doom and gloomers out there, but I see very clearly that the prevailing wind is towards greater liberality and enlightenment.

LDD: It is for sure, and my place is to tell people that everyone can do this. If I can do it, anyone can. I've done every vice known, I've done it all.

GS: We are all on a continuum back to the one. There's nobody not connected to the one. It's how high up along that continuum do you awaken to.

LDD: It's only a question of how much each one of us has forgotten and how asleep we are, or how disciplined and how passionate we are. The top of the mountain is attainable to everyone, and it's more than attainable, it's our destiny.

Louix Dor Dempriey, also known as Bhagavan Sri Pranananda, is a spiritual master who trains people in the art of self-mastery. The Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation is based in Orange County, and his teachings and trainings take place around the world.

Previously held in Australia, for the first time in 12 years his New Year’s Retreat this year will be in the United States: December 29, 2010–January 2, 2011 in La Jolla. (Details at end of article).

Louix Dor Dempriey: We create on four different levels: thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds, so I teach people how to purify. I give them techniques and train them in sacred practices to purify all levels in which they create and manifest in the world. A lot of people think meditation is enough or reading books is enough, but I tell people you need to walk your talk. God doesn’t need any soapbox preachers. God needs walking emanations and representations of love, so I place more credence on that than on lip service.

Liv Kellgren/TLC: And what do these techniques look like?

Louix Dor Dempriey: I teach pranayama, which are sacred breathing techniques that can help align your chakras and heal your body: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, and ones where the practice invokes and draws enormous infusions of divine light or current or (however you want to describe it) love into your body, which itself both feels ecstatic and euphoric. But the light itself has transforming effects on the body, and people go through tremendous healings.

The other thing I do is I give people direct guidance through teachings—whether I write them, speak them, or film them. Also, in tandem with that, I give people direct guidance on their life circumstances. People bring to me situations in which they’re involved: whether it’s an ailment, an injury, a job, a love relationship, friendship, or employers. They bring me situations, and I help them. I empower them and guide them to find the answers within themselves.

I teach them the art and practice of self-inquiry. I teach them how to first realize, and then recognize and discern, how everything in the universe is speaking to us and teaching us something all the time. Everything means something.

Everything that happens in our environment, everything that happens in our life, happens solely for the purpose of each person’s God-realization. And we can glean, from that, wisdom and life lessons, which we then master, and thereby, evolve into higher and higher states of consciousness, higher and higher vibrations of love. But it’s all the true art of self-inquiry. That’s really the main tool that I use—reflecting on everything that happens in our lives, learning from it, and teaching ourselves.

I often jovially call myself-a set of training wheels for one’s own inherent divinity. Once I get people up to speed and get them using these tools, if they never saw me again, they could still continue practicing these tools and attain Buddhahood or attain liberation. And even if it’s not about that as the goal, it’s really about living as pure love. I often tell people (even though most masters and teachers will say the goal is liberation and enlightenment)—which, of course, ultimately it is, “Just focus on becoming pure love, purifying yourself, your mind, your emotions, your body, and your spirit.” And then, the outcome is the destiny of every soul anyway.

So, it sounds like you’re encouraging an individualized path for each person.

It depends. What do you mean by individualized?

Well, encouraging someone to look inside their own selves. So, I may have a different path than the person sitting next to me, but we’re all headed toward the same place.

True, true. It is individual at the level of the Absolute. I mean, our journey into full God-realization is an individual journey. It’s just between me and God, between you and God. But we’re also, as a human species, as a race of beings, an interrelated species. We’re an interdependent species.

So, even though the journey to liberation is individual, the means to do it is not. We need other people in terms of our lives, and so it’s important that we work together in harmony with one another.

But your own victory is not dependent on another person. We’re not dependent in that way. We have everything that we need within ourselves. So yes, it is individual, but it’s also interactive.

We all need people in our lives who can support us, don’t we?

Yeah. And we should seek them out and surround ourselves with them. It’s a really important piece that I advise people on. It’s so critical to surround ourselves with people who support our dreams and our beliefs, as it is so hard to attain lofty goals without that. It’s almost impossible.

Have you reached your highest potential?

So, have I reached the zenith of my divine potential in this lifetime? That’s not really for me to say. But what I do tell people is that every minute of the day I strive to become greater love and to re-create myself-anew as love every day. Every time I encounter a person, I find new ways to love that person, whether I know the person or the person is a stranger.

One of the hallmarks of my teachings is that the single, greatest disease on this planet is complacency. Complacency marks the beginning of decline. Whether you’re a master or whether you’re an artist, a painter, or a teacher— whatever you do, complacency is deadly.

I think there’s a need for constant striving to become more, to become greater love, and to remain somewhat humble about it. There’s an important place to have that self-love and self-dignity, to know thyself, but it is even more important to constantly defer to the supreme majesty of the Creator and have that insatiable hunger to become greater love. I think that is what keeps us in perspective and keeps our hand out of the mixing bowl, so to speak.

And so, at your ashram in Orange County, a lot of what you do is model that in classes, processes, examples?

Mostly what I do in our public events is give darshan, where people come to receive a personal blessing and anointing. Darshan, for those who may not know, is a direct transference of divine light or energy that comes from the master into the individual, and it completely and radically transforms someone’s mind, life, and body. Whether or not they know it, feel it, or believe it, it does anyway.

And it affects different people in different ways, but it is an actual physical transmission, transfusion, and infusion of light that comes directly from the Godhead through the God-realized consciousness of a master, vibrating in that (God-realized) frequency, and then goes into the body. So many people go into euphoric states, and have kundalini awakenings. Some people cry and cry and cry, feeling that love coming into them.

Other people laugh hysterically. Some people get angry. Some people feel nothing, but there’s no one who walks away unaffected. And it affects people’s lives in ways they may never see or know, either. I know—because of who I am and what I do—that darshan is one of the single, greatest gifts that I can give people, because you can’t find that in a store.

I always tell people, “Be very detached.” The best thing you can do is to just come with an empty mind and be the empty chalice. Just say, “I welcome and receive this love,” and that’s all you really need to do.

These darshans, are they weekly, monthly, or special events?

Right now, we have more events than we’ve ever had. We have one or two events a month, and usually one of them is a darshan. We’ve got one at the Rose Temple in Venice in L.A., and we’ve got one in Orange County on the 21st of November. That one is going to be really interesting, because I will be home just one day from a five-week pilgrimage throughout all the sacred sites of India, so I’ll be plugged into a wall socket that night. [Laughs]

Tell us more about the New Year’s Retreat.

We have morning meditation, where the people come together in our sanctuary. There is silent meditation. There are some prayers and invocations. We do some sacred chants.

And then, at some point of the day, there is invariably a window of time of several hours wherein I’m coaching and counseling people. Again, where they bring their lives to the table and they seek divine guidance on how to become masterful in whatever that circumstance is; and every, single time, whatever is spoken and shared applies to everybody in the room, because we’re really all One. So, I always encourage people to listen to every word spoken as being spoken directly and only to you.

The people who wait for their turn have completely missed the parade, because everyone in the room is a reflection of some part of each one of us. Again, it gets back to self-reflection and self-inquiry. I teach people that you are the only person on the planet, and the seven billion humans are the seven billion reflections and aspects of you, so we can learn from everyone’s life as our own.

And then, we have these beautiful meals. Our meals are just these amazing banquets of organic vegan food.. And there’s laughter. There’s a lot of singing, a lot of hugging and joviality, and we go out in nature a lot. We go out on the earth, and this place is right on the bluffs overlooking the ocean, so I imagine, at some point, there will be an ocean hike, too.

And then, on New Year’s Eve, I give a very special discourse after dinner. I start around 10 pm or maybe 9 pm. We start reflecting. I take the group on a reflection of the past year in their lives, and to see what lessons they learned, which ones they mastered, which ones they avoided and repressed, in what areas they didn’t do so well, and pretty much look at how the energies held that year guided their lives. When we get through all that, I give a revelatory discourse about the year to come.

I give a divine dispensation each year about the energy that’s going to be overlighting and guiding the planet, collectively and individually. And then, I apply it to their lives and show how those energies will affect the things on the collective level, things on an individual level, within institutions, and then within their lives. And then we have a great countdown to New Year’s, a toast, and we have a big “hug fest” after that for about an hour.

And is this where The Year of Adoration came from?

Yes, that was a discourse, the revelation that I gave last New Year’s Eve, that this year, 2010, would be The Year of Adoration. And then, throughout the year, I’ll continue to speak about it, help people to attune to those energies, and use that to really catapult their lives into greater levels of peace, love, harmony, and mastery. So it is one of the most powerful vehicles they can use to go higher up the mountain, so to speak, and that’s what this year is all about.

In explaining that Year of Adoration, it’s really about people using this year—where there’s this portal, this opening for people—to place their singular and highest focus on falling more deeply in love with God, with The Beloved, than they ever have before. And, for people to say, “Well, I always love God”—well, yeah, that’s all well and good, but I’m asking that this year you re-create it, reinvent it, and take it to an unprecedented level, because that will invoke divine love and grace that will take your life into the stratosphere. And for people who say they already have that, I say, “Well, go do more. Go higher.”

And again, I keep the focus throughout the year (in my events and in my teachings) on steering people into this, because devotion is one of the highest and fastest routes to God, because it is the supreme vehicle to attain the exalted state of self-love. And self-love is the vehicle for liberation.

Why is 2010 the Year of Adoration?

If we look at the world, the world has traveled (obviously, there are exceptions to the rule, but I speak of the collective humanity as a being) so far from The Beloved into selfish pursuit, into sense gratification, into pursuing worldly desires, to the point whereby God no longer exists as a Creator in this world but exists as money. Money, fame, and earthly power have become God for so many people in this world, and people have become so consumed by it that this proclamation, this Revelation and dispensation, came from the Divine.

The reason “this year” and “why now” is because most of humanity has been like a runaway train on a path of self-destruction. You remember in the movie, I think it was the first Terminator, when Schwarzenegger’s character came, and the little boy said, “Why have you come? Why are you here?”

And he said, “You human beings are programmed to destroy yourselves, so I’ve come to stop you from destroying yourself. You have a beautiful species and beautiful planet, and you’re destroying it.” So it’s in line with that. Pursuing these false gods, of just gratifying the senses, with wanton reckless abandon—which, of course, is only for the purpose of numbing the pain of feeling separate from God in the first place—isn’t going to lead anywhere.

I had one master who used to tell me, when I was a young upstart myself, thinking I knew more than anyone, “You just need to get out of the way. You are in God’s way. Just get out of the way and no one will get hurt. You do your job. Just serve and obey, and God will protect and serve you, and everything works, and everyone will be happy.” So that’s what I live by, and I hope that other people will, too. If they really want to attain inner peace, you know, it works.

The New Year’s Retreat this year will be December 29, 2010-January 2, 2011 at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, just 30 minutes north of downtown San Diego. For more information on the Retreat, Louix’s darshan schedule, or other events around the world, please visit the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation website www.Louix.org.

(Las Vegas, NV – 19 July 2009) A growing community of spiritual seekers in Las Vegas invited Louix to their city for the first time during the second week of July. Kitty Courtney and Sean Brown, who lead several spiritual groups in Las Vegas, graciously hosted Louix and a team from Prema Drala Ashram for a series of events at their home in Henderson.

For weeks prior to the Evening of Darshan on July 18th, momentum was building through various events and media coverage, including radio interviews on Reverend Thabithi’s radio show The Empowerment Hour on AllTalk Radio www.alltalkradio.net/alt/, first with Markus Kasunich (10-year disciple and personal assistant to Louix), and then with Louix; and an article in the inaugural edition of The Las Vegas Metamystic (www.themetamystic.com) that featured information about Louix, His teachings, and the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation and its various programs.

All of these events culminated with the Evening of Darshan. Around eighty people came to receive Louix’s blessing, which, for many, invoked profound transformation and exalted states of bliss.

As each person knelt before Louix, He removed physical ailments, provided profound guidance about their lives, and infused them with unfathomable amounts of Divine love and light. People from all walks of life and from myriad paths and beliefs, some of whom had never before been in the presence of a Master, were inexplicably drawn to be a part of this experience—of receiving Louix’s unique expression of unconditional love.

Laguna Hills, CA – 15 July 2008. The Heart Always Knows is a collection of fifty-nine essays written by people whose inextricably linked hearts have led them to their spiritual teacher, Louix Dor Dempriey. These captivating stories take the reader into the intimate lives of students of a living Master and capture the miracles and synchronicities that abound in their walk with Him.

The accounts of these journeys, written by individuals from diverse walks of life, countries, and cultures, are equally as inspirational as they are unique. They reveal the rigours of Initiate training, challenges encountered on the path to self-mastery, and the blessings that arise when the seeker’s life is brought into alignment with Divine will.

The Heart Always Knows is currently available at the online store and will soon be available in bookstores around the country.

The meaning of life is to be in service to a Purpose which is greater than the self.

To fulfill the vision for serving and uplifting humanity, the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation will be raising USD$15 million for the following:

Purchasing and developing a property that will provide housing for at least twenty people, as well as the new global headquarters of the Foundation. In addition to providing the usual infrastructural needs of a global non-profit organization, this ashram property (spiritual community) will be a self-sustaining, organic farm, dedicated to “green” living and to embodying the spiritual teachings which are the very foundation of Louix’s life and ministry. This will serve as a model for other such communities to be developed around the world.

Legal and administrative costs to complete the full structuring and establishment of the Foundation and its subsidiaries.

Creating a salaried, full- and part-time staff for managing the various departments and activities of the Foundation, and establishing programs for all volunteer support staff.

Preserving the Foundation’s historical artifacts and educational materials, which include all of Louix’s recorded teachings since 1992 (many of which are in urgent need of preservation), as well as establishing a program to meet the Foundation’s future archiving needs.

Publishing and distributing Louix’s teachings (and others sponsored by the Foundation) via books, DVDs, films, CDs, the Internet, television, radio, and other media.

Conducting spiritual retreats, pilgrimages, seminars, and study courses.

Expanding the existing (and developing new) global service projects to preserve and purify our earth and its environments, as well as projects that support the physical and spiritual needs of individuals and communities around the world.

Procuring computer and audio visual equipment for the development of new educational products (print, audio, and other media).

Become More Involved!

Below you will find a description of the programs and activities that the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation presently conducts and plans to conduct in the future to achieve its stated purposes and objectives. The Foundation's mission is achieved through three main areas of focus:

Darshan: This is one of the single, most powerful blessings bestowed upon an individual, as it is a rare opportunity—by way of the gaze or touch from a God-realized being—to directly receive the living essence of God's love which dwells in the consciousness and embodiment of the Master.

Education: Through the study of Louix’s teachings, by practicing His recommended daily spiritual tools for growth and transformation, and by participating in His educational programs, ones can achieve self-mastery and true inner peace and joy.

Humanitarian Service: Recognizing the interconnectedness of humanity and the importance of helping others, the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation offers loving service to individuals and groups worldwide, as well as to the earth and its environments.

Darshan

The all-transforming power of God's love comes through Me,
like a magnifying glass, so that the souls before Me
become consumed by the flame of His love.

Louix's darshan is available to people of all faiths, beliefs, and walks of life—for His love is truly unconditional and embraces all. The Grace of the Master has profound transformational and healing effects, often evoking exalted states of bliss, spiritual awakening, and even, at times, healing of physical ailments. For thousands of years, people have come before God-realized beings to receive this immense blessing which, by its own nature, augments and strengthens one's spiritual or religious beliefs.

Education

Transformation occurs every time you remember
one more part of your inherent divinity.

As a result of being in His presence and by practicing His teachings, thousands of people of all faiths and cultural backgrounds have experienced life-changing transformations. Louix and His teachings are available through myriad public programs—spiritual retreats and pilgrimages, meditations, study groups, and other special events—as well as through a host of educational products, and via the online community and library of His teachings.

Pilgrimages, Retreats, and Public Audiences

Attending pilgrimages, retreats, and public audiences are ways people can receive Louix's darshan (blessing) and be illuminated by His wisdom. During these events, Louix gives discourses on various aspects of self-mastery and Enlightenment, and facilitates Q&A sessions, sacred ceremonies, and meditations. Being in His presence and participating in these events helps people become aware of and heal the wounds and patterns which prevent them from living as unconditional love.

In previous years, Louix has led sacred pilgrimages to Sedona, Maui, Mt. Shasta, Central Australia, Egypt, Israel, Kenya, and India. In addition, He has held several retreats (as well as many private and public audiences) in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. In 2007 and 2008, retreats were held in Australia and the United States. The Foundation will continue this tradition of coordinating pilgrimages to sacred and historical sites, and bringing retreats and other public programs to countries all over the world.

Youth Groups

Youth Groups (for pre-adolescents and adolescents) have been held to assist children in establishing a spiritual foundation in their lives. The children are taught basic meditation techniques, prayers, devotional singing, and other tools (including the use of educational films and other media) to foster and develop their intuitive talents and abilities, to strengthen and restore their full connection to the Divine realm, and to nurture their overall spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being. The children are involved in community service activities (spending time in/with various groups, communities, cultures, and organizations) and are taught to love, appreciate, protect, and preserve nature and the environment.

Study Groups

Study Groups offer a regular forum for people to explore Louix’s teachings and to learn about the many practical tools He offers to accelerate one’s spiritual development and to experience greater joy and inner peace. They are facilitated by His disciples, devotees, and others who have been deeply impacted by His presence in their lives. Study Groups are currently established in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. One of the goals of the Foundation will be to create study guides and other materials to facilitate the study of Louix’s teachings by individuals and groups. The Foundation also plans to set up study groups in schools, universities, prisons, church groups, and other institutions that serve the greater community.

Men’s and Women’s Groups

These intimate gatherings held at Louix's various ashrams and centers provide a safe environment for the attendees to share with an open heart and to deepen their bonds of sisterhood and brotherhood. They also provide the opportunity for both the group leaders and all participants to share their experience and wisdom with each other, growing and learning from this interaction.

Creative Arts

Louix has a diverse and extensive background in the creative arts. He is passionate about celebrating the diversity of cultures, the richness of their art, and the aesthetic and ancient traditions of the past and present. While the Foundation does not have any specific creative arts programs currently in place, it is an area that will be expanded in the future.

Building Communities

Living in community, residents support one another’s spiritual growth and attainment of self-mastery and God-realization. They take part in daily meditations and prayers, service, and scheduled gatherings and activities. The depth of love and safety in these closely-knit and loving communities facilitates profound growth and healing for all who live there. The ashrams host public meditation evenings, study groups, pranayama (sacred breathing technique), and open house gatherings, offering people the opportunity to receive the blessings of Louix’s life and teachings and to share those blessings with others in the greater community.

There are currently four ashrams1 which are guided by Louix’s grace and wisdom:

Prema Drala (world headquarters and Louix’s primary residence) in Southern California, U.S.A.;

Sundara Aravinda in Melbourne, Australia;

Sathya Sananda in Sydney, Australia;

Prana Shakti in Hobart, Australia. This ashram is situated on a six-acre rural property, which includes two homes, a small cottage, and extensive, organic vegetable gardens and fruit orchards; and, as such, serves as an example of the Foundation’s vision for establishing planned communities.

One of the goals of the Foundation is to develop more ashrams under Louix’s guidance. The communities established in rural settings will ultimately be fully self-sustaining for both food and energy (i.e. “off-the-grid”). They will grow extensive organic gardens and orchards, and will use solar and other natural sustainable energy resources that foster and perpetuate Louix’s teachings on the importance of “green” living. All of Louix’s ashrams practice veganism2.

1Ashrams are intentional spiritual communities formed primarily for the enrichment of those who choose to live within them. They are traditionally formed and centered around the life and teachings of a living Master (God-realized being) and serve to help spread those teachings.

2Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a vegan as a strict vegetarian who consumes no animal food or dairy products; also one who abstains from using animal products (such as leather and fur).

Publishing

In 2008, the Foundation published a book entitled The Heart Always Knows, a collection of 59 essays written by Louix’s disciples and devotees, several of whom are in the midst of writing their own books about their walk with Him. Louix also has several books and other literary works currently in development (including a re-write of His first book, Dawn of Enlightenment, self-published in 1998).

Since His ministry began in 1996, Louix has produced an extensive library of audio and written products, as well as recordings of His many events, courses, retreats, and pilgrimages, all of which are compilations of His ageless teachings on self-mastery, Enlightenment, and unconditional love. Also, this website (formerly www.LouixDorDempriey.com) comprises an extensive portfolio of His teachings, including discourses (audio, video, and written), stories, poetry, photos, book excerpts, and Q&A’s—and is continually being updated and expanded.

Louix's teachings have been published in magazines throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India. He has appeared and been interviewed on various radio and television programs in the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. There are plans to produce various documentary films about Louix’s life and His teachings (with one that is currently in production), and to expand His presence in print publications and in all media throughout the world.

Archiving

There is an ever-expanding library of audio and video recordings of Louix’s life and teachings, as well as His personal artifacts, that are in the ongoing process of being archived. Currently, the recordings of Louix’s discourses are transcribed by volunteers around the world. Once transcribed and catalogued, these recordings provide the raw materials to create published works including books, study guides, articles, films, and audio books. There is an urgent need to preserve the many audio and video tapes that are now more than a decade old. Many are beginning to deteriorate and could be erased or permanently damaged. With the increased human and financial resources that will come through this Foundation, this very important work will be given the vital attention it needs.

Humanitarian Service

Compassionate hearts change the world.

The Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation is dedicated to supporting individuals and communities worldwide through its humanitarian programs and services. The Foundation has raised money to support numerous organizations over the last decade, including:

Sri Ranga Patna Orphanage (Mysore, India)

Operation U.S.A. (Los Angeles, California)

Ronald McDonald House (Christchurch, New Zealand)

Sandy Happy Children’s Home (Kisumu, Kenya)

Corazón de Vida (Baja California, Mexico)

The Foundation also regularly participates in local community service programs. Louix’s extended family of devotees, friends, and affiliates also volunteer to their local communities and organizations on a regular basis. Activities include visiting senior citizen homes, house cleaning, feeding and caring for the homeless, clothing and food drives, serving hospices and their residents, and socializing with at-risk youth.

Supporting our Environment

The Foundation’s global service projects come under the umbrella of Grace in Action, which is currently comprised of two initiatives: Global Clean-up Project and Forests of Fruit. Both of these programs welcome and encourage public participation.

Global Clean-up Project was established in December 2003. Its goal is to clean the Earth by picking up trash in our communities and disposing of it responsibly. To date, the equivalent of more than 16,000 grocery bags of trash have been collected by volunteers in six countries. Louix’s ashrams and study groups coordinate regular community trash pick-ups and support their local city council’s community events on special occasions such as Earth Day and International Waterways Day.

Forests of Fruit was initiated in December 2005. By planting fruit trees on various public and private properties, and encouraging others to do so, this project gives life to Pranananda’s teachings of how fruit is paramount to our health and vitality. This project’s goal is to bring an end to starvation and malnutrition (which claim millions of lives every year) by providing free, naturally-grown food for all human beings (and animals and birds) everywhere. It also serves to reforest and oxygenate the planet (thus reversing the effects of global warming), and to beautify the world while so doing.

In the future, Grace in Action will include additional projects that embody Louix’s teachings of living in grace and harmony with Mother Earth and with all living beings. These programs are all currently coordinated by volunteers. As resources become available, the current and new programs will expand to include community education programs, greater local and international publicity, and coordination with other like-minded organizations. The Foundation intends to also create many more service and humanitarian projects that will serve the physical and social needs of all sections of society.

Program Support

All the programs described above are currently managed, facilitated, and supported by a small, dedicated group of volunteers. The establishment of this Foundation creates the vehicle for increasing its volunteer base, employing full- and part-time salaried staff, and expanding its activities to reach a wider international community.

The Early Years

The greatest adventure you will ever have
is the journey into your own heart.

Louix Dor Dempriey was born at 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, 17 December 1961, in Somerville, Massachusetts, U.S.A. He was named Louis Bonanno, the third of four children of Italian-American parents.

As a child, Louix’s Divine qualities were evident. He demonstrated immense compassion for His fellow human beings, animals, and plants. Wild animals frequently came to Him, and He often brought home injured animals and nursed them back to health. It was in the quietude of Nature where He would experience His most profound communion with the Divine.

Jesus physically appeared before Him at the age of five, to prophesy two critical turning points in His life, and to prepare Him for what was to come. By age ten, His insight and wisdom belied His age, and people of all ages and from different walks of life were already seeking His counsel for their personal problems. Louix also achieved academic excellence throughout His schooling and displayed a level of maturity and responsibility beyond His years.

Young Adulthood

By following one’s heart—that small, still, silent voice—
one is inextricably tethered into the heart, mind, and will of God,
even without knowing what it is.

Throughout His life, He entertained others with His wit, creativity, and performing talents. After graduating from Bentley College in 1983 with degrees in Economics/Finance and Accounting, He moved to New York City to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, pursuing His childhood dream to become an actor. A near-fatal bout with food poisoning both terminated His cherished studies and, through a serendipitous turn of events, secured His first starring role in a feature film. In 1986, His burgeoning career brought Him to Hollywood, where He appeared in several films and television programs. By the late 80′s, He was riding a wave of success in all areas of His life.

Spiritual Training

Everything that happens to you is for the sole purpose of
your own God-realization.

In May of 1990, Louix experienced a very powerful kundalini awakening, which sent Him straight into samadhi (a state of Divine bliss). Instantly activated were many siddhas (Divine powers/abilities) that had lain dormant within Him. For more than a week He experienced total omniscience and did not eat or sleep, so powerful was the current of Love coursing through His being.

In February of 1992, following a string of miraculous events, and in answer to His prayers for Divine guidance, Louix had an encounter with four Ascended Masters. Soon thereafter, He renounced the material world and began training in earnest with the Masters in The Ancient Mystery School, fulfilling one of the prophecies spoken to Him by Jesus at the age of five.

Within two months, Louix was able to enter a conscious trance (bhava samadhi) and physically presence Ascended Masters and other celestial beings within His own form. In April of 1992, He was bequeathed the name Louix Dor Dempriey, which means "Behold! I give you the Kingdom of Heaven."

During four years of rigorous Initiate training, nearly 100 Avatars, Masters, angels, and saints physically materialized within and before Him to accelerate the realization of His full Divinity.

Enlightenment

Divinity reveals itself from within the self,
where it lies dormant until such time
as the soul is ready and willing to externalize it.

Louix Dor Dempriey attained Enlightenment on 7 March 1996. One year later, Paramahansa Yogananda appeared before Him to herald the opening of Louix’s first ashram, Prema Drala, which means "The Grace of God." In October of that same year, Paramahansaji appeared again, this time placing His right hand upon Louix’s head and anointing Him with the Sanskrit name Sri Pranananda, which translates as "Most Beloved Breath of God."

Global Family

Love takes on whatever form it needs
to reach you, to touch you, and to draw you unto Itself.

A few years after the opening of His first ashram, Louix’s ministry spread to other countries. There are currently three ashrams in Australia: Sundara Aravinda in Melbourne, Prana Shakti in Hobart, and Sathya Sananda in Sydney. The world headquarters, Prema Drala, where Louix resides, is currently located in Southern California. There are also study groups in Chicago and New York, U.S.A.; Hamilton, New Zealand; and Vancouver, Canada.

In 2007, the Louix Dor Dempriey Foundation was founded as a non-profit educational organization dedicated to sharing Louix’s teachings and humanitarian works. The Foundation’s mission is to help people remember and restore their inherent divinity, and to walk in this world as unconditional love.

Louix Dor Dempriey’s global family is constantly expanding, inspired by a common vision for personal transformation, self-mastery, and dedication to humanitarian and environmental causes. Louix’s many ashrams, retreats, pilgrimages, and public appearances provide additional opportunities for people to experience His eternal love, wisdom, and joy.
